Rediscovered love.

I enjoyed this spicy romance. Thane and Catrina both rediscovered they need love and are able to love and be loved.

Hot and steamy

This book had my imagination going and I want more of the story, I could not sleep at all last night listening to this hot story.

Very middle of the road for me

I was very disappointed after hearing so much about Dragons Bride, and I was hoping for just a little more from it. But when this one came out on audio I thought I’d give it another shot.

For me and my taste, it’s just a bit too restrained. Spice could have been a bit more, the climax (or antagonist or SOMETHING) was a let down, just didn’t feel like the plot actually had anywhere to go besides a bratty woman and a heartbroken, grumpy kraken. That novelty wore off after about 5 chapters for me.

Again is it the worst listen out there? By no means, it was an easy listen and the narrators are good. But just fell short of what I wanted it to be.

Charming and naughty

Loved it. Loved the character growth and discussion of communication issues and abuse. The sex scenes were delicious.

Good Story, but I Wish it Had Been a Bit Longer

A very nice story, but it would have been nice to spend more time with the characters. I also thought it worth mentioning (since I've seen some rather mean reviews about "pronoun crap") that there was very nice use of gender neutral pronouns in this book. I love seeing representation in stories that just is, without othering the individuals.

Representation can't save flat plot.

I still think this story has a lot of potential, and there were bits of it I very much enjoyed. That enjoyment was somewhat diminished when Thane and Catalina seem to develop feelings for each other because *reasons*. It might be the length of the story, but I didn't believe their switch from animosity to affection. I loved the representation present in this book, and hope to see more books like it hit the shelves.

Even Better Than the First Book!

I loved this one! I liked the first book in the series but wasn't blown away. This one is much better so if you're on the fence, it's absolutely worth the credit. The voice is fantastic. She is hilariously self aware about her trauma and uses humor to cope. She's quite charming and I enjoyed reading both PoVs.
Excellent narration as usual by these two. Easy to listen to and keep up.

Highlights:
-- They're both dealing with trauma in their own way and their characterizations and actions are consistent
-- He's way more into her than the idea of her/ his duty
-- A GREAT, interesting relationship between brothers
-- Two nonbinary characters, one using ze/sir pronouns
-- Both MCs are bisexual
-- Curvy heroine
-- Dual PoV

The tags in the beginning of the book really give the best sense of the voice:

"I’ll fuck the brat right out of you, widower, party girl covering up how empty she feels, I got hurt and so I decided emotions are for the birds and I won’t feel them anymore, forced proximity, if you don’t give me attention I will MAKE you give me attention, auction, tentacles make everything better, 0rgasms are definitely the proper response to terror, let me teach you how to swim, men will literally lock you in a tower for your own safety instead of going to therapy, he can’t just f**k self-confidence into me…but can’t hurt to try, prehensile c0ck"

There are SO many things to like about this story:
1-Not the usual girl auctioned to a king/monster/alien set-up
2-female MC who does NOT whine, complain about her crappy childhood, or run from her new reality
3-polyamory, homosexuality, and asexuality are part of this world, and accepted
4- alternate pronouns!
5- male MC who is more interested in supporting his girl than 'doing his duty'
6- decent sex
7- great narration

I think there are many readers who will be thrown off by the sexual inclusivity of this book/world, but I like it. I hope the author continues writing stories in this Demon world and delves into those alternative relationships in future books

it's ok

the story is nice but cringe at times. also I'm not a big fan of pronouns it makes it a bit confusing at times but whatever. I could feel this book was not as good as one of the others.
