Story
When a vampire serial killer sends Anita Blake a grisly souvenir from Las Vegas, she has to warn Sin City's local authorities what they're dealing with. Only it's worse than she thought. Ten officers and one executioner have been slain - paranormal style. Anita heads to Vegas, where's she's joined by three other federal marshals, including the ruthless Edward. It's a good thing he always has her back, because when she gets close to the bodies, Anita senses "tiger" too strongly to ignore it.

Story
Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake. Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed. Micah's estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has his doctors whispering about "zombie disease". Anita makes her living off of zombies - but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires.

My favorite of the series
I enjoyed this book more than her earlier ones, and much much more than her later ones. I enjoy going back and reading the Anita Blake series up until about Blue moon...and just lost interest in the direction she had taken. Out of all this has to be my favortie one though.

Sound Effects?
I really like this book. It's one of my favorite in the series and I had an extra credit so I thought I'd listen to it. The narrator isn't bad. She does Jean Claude in a good French accent, which surprised me. I did NOT like the sound effects. They took away from the dialog and made me think of B-movie suspense moments and bad porno music. It doesn't ruin it, but i was glad I read the book before I listened to it.

So far this book is my favorite in the series. I didn't get bored once. I'm not going to say that I'm thrilled with the ending, but I don't want to spoil anything so I'll remain silent. Can't wait for the next one.

a strange story
as a whole it's not bad story but the characters make some odd twists with very little explanation. Anita choices as a whole seem to make less sense then they've had in previous books. as stated before not bad but a bit of a messy ending.
