Publisher's summary

The Inconsequential Child is an intimate memoir of one man's journey of self-discovery. It is written in the form of a letter where each chapter conveys one of the lessons the author has learned during his journey toward emotional well-being, love, and hope.

The audiobook centers around a series of memories which were the basis of the author's personal psychoanalysis. The memories are written as he remembers them; in his voice, often in first-person, present-tense. The author also offers both real-time and post-analysis of the memories that have guided him through his journey.

As such, The Inconsequential Child is not a self-help audiobook. Instead, it is full of possibility. The possibility that you, too, can heal as you walk along your path toward self-discovery. Also, please note that the author is not a medical professional and he is using a pseudonym.

As a female reader, couldn’t immerse myself into the narration

Reading the book seems to do the trick better for me than listening to this

Good

This was a good book. I love the narrators voice. The author seems very genuine and I am grateful that he was vulnerable from start to finish. I also really enjoy how logical he is and how he was able to dissect and articulate his emotional responses. This book doesn’t give you instructions on how to grow; rather it is the authors story and experience. I enjoyed it but it is not one of those books that I would reread because it doesn’t provide clear steps for growth. Good for beginners who are curious about developing their emotional intelligence

A Heartfelt Story

I enjoyed this book. While it wasn’t super helpful in practical ideas for coping with my own issues; it was a refreshing, short tale that makes you feel less alone in the world.

The author did a great job of telling his story and sharing little quips of wisdom that he learned on his journey toward overcoming childhood trauma and emotional neglect.

Not gonna lie, the man’s New Yorker, Italian accent makes the book kinda fun to listen too. It made me a giggle a bit hearing a NY accent talk about heart chakras and soul essences.

I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something a bit more lighthearted to follow.

Potentially Life Changing

I'm hoping this book will help me finally breakthrough. I am so unemotional and my marriage has suffered so much because of it. I just recently realized that I suffer from emotional neglect trauma and this book is exactly what I was looking for. I don't have the words. Just amazing. I would love to meet the author one day. Thank you! G-d bless you.
