Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. Felix Castor is a freelance exorcist, and London is his stomping ground. It may seem like a good ghostbuster can charge what he likes and enjoy a hell of a lifestyle, but there's a risk: sooner or later he's going to take on a spirit that's too strong for him. When Castor accepts a seemingly simple ghost-hunting case at a museum in the shadowy heart of London, what should have been a perfectly straightforward exorcism is rapidly turning into the Who Can Kill Castor First Show, with demons and ghosts all keen to claim the big prize.

The new guardians of Earth, the genetically engineered Erta, have reversed climate change. They are now faced with a dilemma; if they reintroduce the rebellious and violent Homo sapiens, all of their work will be undone.

What a tale!
I smiled and cried - was furious and delighted. After listening to The Last Dog on Earth, I didn’t think I would find so unique an experience with the same author, but I was wrong. Mr. Walker is so imaginative and has the writing chops to bring his imagination to life. Ms. O’Donnell is a the perfect narrator for this book. Do yourself a favor and buy this book.

HORRIBLE NARRATOR!!!!!
The book description sounds right up my sci-fi alley! After 2 chapters I HAD HAD HAD to delete it. The NARRATOR was horrible, so bad I could not concentrate on the book. Soon after starting she takes over another character, who is over weight, so she talks like a drunk Jabba the hut. Really really distracting. I would love to get my money back.

Unusual and Amazing
This story is a very unique concept . The story sort of pulls you along and the characters draw you in. You start out feeling about the main character one way but by the end of the story feeling completely differently. I have three autistic children , so I could relate to the main character's logic driven persona, and the way it changes as the story progresses . The narrator has such a lovely voice and is an amazing storyteller. I'm off to look for more stories from this author !

A climate change and de-growth novel
This was a “told you so” of climate change. Bad man destroyed the earth but managed to create a hybrid, an enhanced human race that saved the planet. They lived “in harmony” with nature by eliminating most technology and the production of any goods was controlled by strict dictates. No roads, no cars, no transportation, no computers, no telephones, no tv’s, etc. etc.
The ultimate de-growth movement….

Great book but not sure if I should cry or smile or be angry with it.. I suppose it’s a sign of a good book!
Slow starting but it needs to be slow for the finality of it it is a story that once you start you need to follow to its end to understand or infer the meaning
Well narrated the Scottish accent giving it the musical femininity the story needs

An interesting perspective.
It took me a bit of time to get into this book, but worthwhile in the end. The story, while fictional deals with real subject matters. In particular the love of a child and a single mothers perspective taken from an unusual detatched point of view. it also askes the question are humans all that bad? oh well ill leave that for you to decide 🙂

What a great story
Loved this story, best I have listened to since Udo the digger, it was a bit different to the usual space ships, enhanced soldier type of scfi books I normally read and I was a bit apprehensive about the purchase, then when I heard the narrator was female and Scottish I groaned inwardly BUT the story and the narration was brilliant, In fact I'm going to find the authors other books and the narrators narrations right now.
