Strange & some interesting elements, buried inside

I almost gave up on this book part about 1/3 of the way through, because I was really getting bored of the "life in jail" description of inmates, crime rings, and crooked guards. I really didn't care. But then along came an interesting element - a character with the ability to walk through dreams, and to teach others to come along for the ride. Those psychic trips added an interesting element, but ultimately there wasn't too much to make me really care about any of the characters very much.

M.R. Carey is a Favorite

Loved reading "Girl With All the Gifts" and "Fellside" certainly didn't disappoint! wonderfully done and beautifully narrated. I want to hear everything Finty Williams does!

Conceptually, I really enjoyed this book. I love paranormal stories and crime novels...this was a little bit of both. I had this book on my wishlist for a while, since having read TGWATG, but I kept reading reviews that this book was not as good, so I put off listening to it. I agree with other reviews that I really didn't feel invested in any characters. It was a good story, good characters, good ending, but nothing that made me say, "WOW, didn't see that coming" or anything like that. I didn't "feel" for any of the characters, I was just along for the ride, I guess. I enjoyed the ride, nonetheless, but just not enough for a 5-star review. The narrator was the same from TGWATG, and I did enjoy her performance.

Most Excellent Story

This audiobook grabs you from start to finish. Great narration as well.
I definitely recommend this.

What a book!

didn't want to let this one go. would sit in the car in the parking lot to finish chapters so no one would interup the story
