The deeply satisfying climax of Prydain Chronicles

The story is a classic. I've loved it since I was a child. The production does it justice. Highly recommended.

A favorite old friend

This series was first read to me over 55 years ago by my mother. I have read it many times since then for myself and to my own children and now to my grandchildren. I enjoyed the original audio production by a narrator I cannot remember. I have enjoyed this newer version of the series read by James Langton.
I must say that even though I have enjoyed the audio versions; I still prefer having a book in my hands and reading the story for myself and to my own children.

Great for family car trips

This is an excellent story and series. It has a lot of suspense and a lot of solid teaching on virtue.

The best of the series, and one of my favorites

The final book far outpaces the other books in the series, even "the black cauldron." It is the longest of the books, but tells one story and never feels like it is dragging. Although I would have preffered Glu to have been left out of the second half of the narrative.

The “Harry Potter” of my childhood

I adored these books as a child, and shared them with my children who loved them as well. A simpler and possibly more accessible story than the amazing HP series for younger readers, the Chronicles of Prydain are still as rich and wonderful as they were 50 years ago. I loved hearing them read to me in this series, as much as I loved hearing my dear 4th grade teacher read them to my class so many years ago.

Lovely

A sweet, lovely, stirring story; written for children but perfect for adults. I highly recommend it as a book to read. This audio book is wonderful. James Langton is a great reader.

I recommend these to everyone I can.

This is considered the best of all the stories of Prydain, but they are all equally well written and loved by me and my family. I recommend these coming-of-age stories to everyone.

My own children listened to me reading them while drawing pictures from their own imagination. These are much better performances than mine ever were, so I really enjoy revisiting them myself.
