Publisher's summary

Evil comes in many forms. Not all of them are human.

They call her the Blue Lady, the harbinger of storms and destruction.

For psychic Charlie Payne, is the appearance of the ghost of the Blue Lady signaling just a hurricane? Or devastation from beyond?

When Charlie is asked to use her considerable talents to help Deputy Jason Tate
with a series of murders, she sees the face of the real assassin in a dream.

Faced with jeering and disbelief from the FBI agent consulting on the case, and doubts from the deputy, Charlie must face the evil threatening her community alone.

As a hurricane barrels toward the South Carolina coast, will her cousins and fellow witches be able to stop the killer before he can take another victim?

If you like spine-tingling supernatural suspense, witches, ghosts, and other paranormal creatures, you will love the fifth book in the Witches of Palmetto Point series.

Different readers

Ok I'm really enjoying this series. Others are complaining about the 2 different readers of this series, I had a really hard time listening to the first reader in the series but I finally got used to her and enjoyed listening to the series. The second reader was also a little hard to get used to especially when she kept saying "Charlie said Evangeline said Tom said" Etc. that got a little irritating. but after a while it either stopped or I got used to hearing it. The series is really good and I enjoy it.I I will continue listening to the series .

I really like these books

I love the topics, family, interactions, stories, etc. of the books up to this point. I listen to a lot of different books since I drive around all day & I hate to be negative about narration but it's really distracting taking double takes in my mind trying to remember how old these women are. They are made out to sound like children instead of women with children of their own. Jen's voice is sooo whiny I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to continue listening. I loved the more southern feel of previous books.
I may have to just let my preteen listen & buy the books in print if I want to continue.

So far the best

At first I didn’t think I could go through the whole book with the change of narrator. I was pleasantly surprise how I was drawn into it. New narrator did an excellent job with the many characters, especially the demon! Will definitely continue listening.

I'm love the witch and ghost plus basis of the stories.

Very gripping with an excellent pace. Found it very hard to put it down. Caught myself staring out windows just listening totally enraptured.

Good story but did not like the narrator.

Good story but did not like the narrator. The previous books narrator was better and the accent for Charlie in this book made her seem annoying at times.

excellent series but the first narrator was much..

love this series! just wish that the original narrator was still available to continue the series. I recently spoke with the author and she informed me of the change before I grabbed book 5 on here. th8s narrator just doesn't do it for me, but maybe that's because I listened and like the first one. not so horrible that I won't continue the series though! I'll deal 🤷‍♀️

Another hit!

Spoiler - I have read all of the books - but having the audibles are ah-mazing! Our favorite coven of witches continue to delight us with this installment. Relationships deepen (several) we get some insights into back stories (I’m trying to limit my spoilers here) and are introduced to one of Jason’s FbI friends. I don’t like his vibe.. but wait till the end when he gets to experience the full force of the mighty coven..

Keep the books and audibles coming!!

Took a bit to get used to the new narrator

While it took me a bit to get used to the new narrator I didn’t hate her, I do believe Amy Bentley was spot on and miss her narration it did not make me want to give up on the series
I think after a few more books I will be well used to Ms Druyor

Eh, it was ok

Potential spoilers ahead:
I read the reviews beforehand and almost didn't dive in due to the dislike of the narrator change but I figured, how bad could it be? Well, it took me about 6-7 chapters before getting the hang of the new voices, none of which had the southern feel that the first books had. For example, Tom, which had a smooth silky feel in the beginning, changed to what I envisioned as a voodoo witch doctor straight out of New Orleans might sound like. That's not a bad thing, but absolutely nothing like the original and hard to get past. If the authors need to make a narrator change, they should try to get someone with similar vocal styles as the original to make the transition a little smoother.

As for the story, it starts out on the beach with the ghost legend of Vanessa looking for her long lost love, and that's pretty much where the story ends for her. She plays no part in the rest of the book until she's mentioned again in the last chapter which is Charlie wanting to go back to see her with Tom. That's a story line seemingly only thrown in to give the book a title and some artwork. Then, there's the story of 2 demons, great, that was a fun twist but I expected them to be connected somehow but they were completely separate plot lines which kind of disjointed the storyline.

I also thought it was weird that Tom said he could kill a person if he needed to in order to reap a demon. He didn't take Megan as requested, but then, when they go after Curtis who was also possessed and had no reason to be kept alive at the end, they all go in to exorcise him vs just letting Tom take the life the host to get the demon. Why risk everyone's life when Tom could've swooped in and taken care of it?

Overall though, I am enjoying these books and will keep reading now that I'm adjusted to the narrator change.
