Suspenseful until the end, bravo. Narration as usual on point. This did not disappoint.

Not the best one in the bunch but she will do

I love this author and love this series. The writing is beautiful and intricate and the narrator is AMAZING. However, this book was not my favorite in the series. The murder seemed a bit more convoluted and it was harder to track the “who dunnit” aspect.

The “Will they/wont they” plot line is now tedious and annoying and feels very dragged out. I wish it would conclude one way or another so we can get back to crime solving

Get out your notepad

When there were two hours left in the book, I got out a notepad & started it over just so I could take notes on all of the characters. You’re going to need to keep notes so you know who is who because there are so many people in this story and every detail about them matters.

The narrator is always perfection and the story is exactly in keeping with all of the others. The character development is perfection and I love keeping up with everyone although I wish I could’ve heard more from Barkley. Love that guy! I appreciate the longevity of the book… I don’t even mind all of the filler because it does seem like we get our moneys worth out of the long story and I’m always sad when it’s over. It’s crazy how invested I am in Cormoran and Robin.

Spoiler alert:

I’m getting sick of the long drag out of the relationship between the two of them. There are only so many times a book can have an ending where it leaves everything hanging…. Especially if it’s going to be two years until the next book. At some point it gets annoying and you just need to finish the damn story. Also, not to ever simplify, but at what point do they actually just start talking to each other because that would literally solve 90% of the communication breakdowns in that particular method of drawing at the store is getting really old.

Slightly Disappointed

I always enjoy these books, the last one having been my absolute favorite so far. What disappointed me the most about this book was that it felt to exist purely to move forward Cormoran and Robin‘s relationship. In previous books, the mystery drove the story forward and created a unique reading experience. If you are like me, you have been rooting for the two from the start. This just felt as if the whole book was moving things forward, only to have the relationship move nowhere at all, or at the very least, where it was in the last three books. Overall, the book was good, but left me feeling disappointed.

Amazing energy and intertwining storylines. The ending just killed me. I hope I don't have to wait two years for the next one!

The chokehold

The chokehold this series has me in, is crippling. Narration is impeccable. Normally I hate a man doing the female narration, but it works so well, it cannot ever change. Strike is perfectly grumpy, and Robin made me want to shake her a few times, but overall it’s simply perfection. I hate how quickly I listened to this and how long I have to wait for the next book.

Excellent book!

I love this series. It is nice long complicated detective book with interesting developments between the detective partners. Narrator is amazing as always.

Couldn’t stop listening

Another fantastic performance by Glenister! Great mystery, superb character development. I laughed, I cried, I gasped and by the end I had to sit down to process my feelings. Only problem is waiting for the next book!
