Slow start, great finish

This book started slow. I thought about not finishing it, but I’m glad that I finished it. It ended up being a great book.

Payoff came almost too late

This novel was really really really slow to pay off as a solid police procedural. The first half or more was unsatisfying. I suppose I'm glad I finished it because the DI was interesting. I wish the author would get back to the quality of the Freida Klein novels. This is the second novel of theirs that just wasn't as good.

Just ok

It really had a slow start and a slow middle, but I hung in there and listen to the whole book. It did get better towards the end.

Long time since my last review, but…

This store grabs you from the first paragraph, and doesn’t let go until the last line. Never boring. Told gently and tastefully. The narrator is virtually flawless. This is an example of storytelling as it’s meant to be.

Good plot and character development

Really did not want to stop listening! Thought I had figured it out and as the story went on; I was wrong. Good building to the climax!

Everything about this book was wonderful. The story flowed and the characters were interesting. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Just ok

This book was ok. But by the end of the book, I was very frustrated that I had wasted so much time for a simple and quick wrap up. I wouldn't recommend it just because there was nothing interesting and no twists.

Great performance

The narrator did great! The story was super interesting and I expected a bigger plot twist. Didn’t quite hit, but the story kept me engaged. So the lack of a twist was disappointing but overall enjoyed it.

Outstanding

The first 20 minutes was hard for me to absorb initially but once it did I was fully engaged in the story. Multi layered and spans decades, a great whodunit with a shocking ending.

Great mystery

Has all the components of a captivating mystery. Emotional depth, strong character development, plenty of potential suspects. Very well-written story. I enjoyed it very much. Especially loved the female characters!
