Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely. Appealed to me (mom) as well as the kids. Very engaging and well written.

What did you like best about this story?

The Green Ember was so imaginative and very exciting. My daughters (age 6 & 7) loved listening to it on our ride to and from school every day. We loved that the heroes of the book were children (rabbits), and the depth of the story. Every time we arrived at school/home, my daughters asked to listen to just a little bit more.

What does Joel Clarkson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A perfectly paced delivery with wonderfully animated voices.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

We loved Picket finding his courage and in the end saving the day.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book not only to a friend, but to an enemy! I realize this is a young adult book, but it has lessons inside for every age. Inspiring.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't pick one character, as each had different personalities that apart, might be considered mundane, but together, they made the story shine.

Have you listened to any of Joel Clarkson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I had never listened to Joel Clarkson before, but I will definitely be looking out for books that he narrates. His voice is so versatile that he can slip between characters, young or old, male or female, and his accents for each were flawless. He is a multi-talented young man, I realized, after finishing the book and looking him up. Take a listen to some of his original music compositions on his site as well. Regrettably this was the only book so far on Audible. Listen up folks - his voice needs to be heard!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"All of life is a battle against fear. We fight it on one front, and it sneaks around to our flank."

Give it a listen, no matter what your age. You won't be sorry, and you will come away feeling that there is hope for our world, too.

One of our favorites!

First we read it on Kindle, then we bought 10 copies & gave them all away, then we got the 2nd book & realized we needed a refresher before reading book 2 so we listened to it on Audible. If you like the Narnia series or Watership Down then you'll enjoy this book! "... 'til the Green Ember rises or the end of the world!"

Riveting

Listened to the audio with my elementary kids. Complex and well done. Can't wait for the next book!

Epic Story & very well done recording

I loved Joel's voice, very clear and easy to listen to. He is very talented. The Green Ember is an epic story, I can't wait until The Ember Falls comes out!

For all ages

I couldn't stop listening to it. I'm 54 and I got this just to enjoy and it was so fun. All of the pace of the story was perfect and the reader did a wonderful job. I'm looking forward to the other books.

Absolutely Exceptional and Enjoyable Read

The Green Ember is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I had a hard time putting it down and can't wait to buy and read the sequel. Joel Clarkson did a fabulous narration!
