I didn't like how it was kinda the same words throughout the book… I think it could use some more excitement!

My son who is 11 and very much enjoying these books, he is now on the 3rd book.

Disappointing

I wanted to love this book but it seemed very melodramatic and full of cliches. It could use a little more editing, I think. I didn't find the story interesting since none of the characters were developed enough to make me care what happened to them. The plot seems to be that two kids travel through time to spend a few minutes encouraging people in history who are in dire circumstances and are then magically whisked away as soon as the people feel encouraged. The reader is left to conclude that it is this magical visit from time travellers that gave historical Christians their perseverance. The story doesn't even remain on the historical figures for long enough to show what happens to them beyond the hour or two the kids spend with them. I guess it's just a teaser to get kids interested in history? This is one of the rare stories that I couldn't even finish. But to be fair, it is written for young kids, so maybe I should have my kids listen to it and see what they think.

Fun idea, poor execution

I like the general story idea, but the execution of it was lacking. Writing was repetitive, the characters were somewhat inconsistent and lacked growth, and the tension the characters were supposedly feeling didn’t reach the reader. The writing voice could use an expansion in vocabulary. Ironically the AI narration was the part of the audio book experience that I find lease fault with.
