In the early 1980s, Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation (SRC) in Springfield, Missouri, was a near bankrupt division of International Harvester. As good as it gets

Been 20 years since I read the book. The info is as relevant as it was 20 years ago. Plenty of usable information on how to get your people involved.

I never heard something like this, although read about 200 books for now( maybe not really a lot, but its not the point).
I never heard even the idea, or the whole paradigm, that was presented here. This will change my business life for ever. It's pure gold, and I am really fortunate, to be able to read this book. intriguing ideas

I manage a non profit consulting business so the application isn't as h obvious but worth considering how I can at it. Well done.

Inspiring Story

I can't believe that I had overlooked this book for so long. It was a god quick read but filled with practical advice for building a culture of ownership in a business. I found a lot of similarities between the system that Stack built at SRC and the Toyota Production System philosophy. He lays out a simple way to determine KPI's at all levels of a business then clearly visualize them and align the organization to go after them. There were very few examples of how the problems were solved, but it is still worth reading just to understand their method of visualizing them. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to understand how to build intrinsic motivation and autonomy in their workforce.

Eyeopening

What an eye opening approach to busness. I couldn't get enough of this book and am looking forward to attending the conference in the fall.
We are so drawn to this approach that we will make intital implement of this method a quarter objective for our 2nd quarter.

The idea overall is very nice

The idea overall is very nice, I have read much better books on operating systems like Traction and Scalling Up
- But I like how they mentioned the bonus % they provide, so we can set as a bench mark

Extremely practical advice

This book contains practical advice on how to build a healthy, sustainable workplace which people love to work. I hope to apply these principles in my own business as it grows.
