Publisher's summary

When magical florist Harriette Harkette decides to throw a lavish eightieth birthday party for herself, she hires Darcy's Aunt Ve's personal concierge service, As You Wish, to plan the soiree. But turning eighty isn't all Harriette is celebrating-the Floracrafter has recently created the midnight black Witching Hour rose, the first all-natural rose of that color.

Darcy works hard on planning an extravagant celebration that will make Harriette feel like the belle of the ball. But when cake delivery boy Michael Healey-a former employee at Harriette's greenhouse-is found dead, the celebration takes a turn. Now Michael's ghost has imprinted on Darcy, meaning that they're bonded until she can untangle the thicket surrounding his murder-and what exactly it has to do with the Witching Hour rose.

Another good story in a fun series

I really enjoy the Wishcraft Mystery series, but this book isn’t one of my favorites. I don’t know why that is. As with the other books in the series, this is well written and the plot well thought out. Definitely worth reading once, but I may skip over this one in future readings of the series.

FUN &INTERESTING

I really enjoyed the storyline. I must say Coleen Marlo has improved greatly. Most characters had very distinct voices. I am getting restless with Darcy and Nick ' s relationship. Enough already!!! The ending was great, so it's on to the next story.

the series gets better

this series is a fun read. the characters are developing in a way that is likely easy to follow if you start reading at book 2 or 3. I'm interested to see what kind of mystery happens next

Love the series

I had a difficult time with the first couple chapters. It may have been the holidays or the fact I had a head cold, but I had to rewind and start over so many times before I could keep track. Normally I can shop and listen but this time had to rewind. I might have had an off week because I love this series. The narrator still makes Darcy sound like she is 50-60 years old but again, it could be her inflections, her state of language origin, I'm not sure. She has a great voice, it just isn't Darcy's voice. All the other voices are spot on. Would listen/read again!

Getting better with each book

Okay, book 3 really pulled me into the series fully. There is much to like here, even with the flaws. It is still a bit more recap than I needed. It is something I will just have to deal with in the series.

The romance takes more of a front seat here, getting more into the relationship for Darcy and Nick. We also see more of Ve and her love life. This book also introduces us to Flora and Tera crafters who are into growing things, plus illumi crafters who are intriguing with their talents. With this story there are plenty of twists and turns. Just when you think you know who the bad guy is, things take a turn. Not everything is as it seems.

All those new characters are fun to follow. I hope we see more of them as time passes in the series. The supporting cast is always a delight and I adore the familiars!! I am enchanted by this series, regardless of the slight flaws in the story telling. On the upside, things are getting better and more fan to read.

I am getting used to the quirks of narrator Coleen Marlo as well. She is not my favorite, but she has grown on my with each new book. She has a swift pace, which I enjoy. She has a terrific energy that she adds to the story and keeps things moving.

At this point I am resolved to read the rest of the series, it is just too endearing to stop.
