Knock...knock...

When Emma finds a dead body on her porch with her name written on the dead man's hand, she uncovers a sinister clue to the mystery that has haunted her since childhood.

FBI Agent Emma Griffin is sent undercover to the small sleepy town of Feathered Nest to uncover the truth behind the strings of disappearances that has left the town terrified.

To Emma, there is nothing that can lay buried forever. Even though her own childhood has been plagued by deaths and disappearances. Her mother’s death, her father’s disappearance, and her boyfriend’s disappearance. The only cases that she hasn’t solved. Her obsession with finding out the truth behind her past was what led her to join the FBI.

Now, she must face what may be her biggest case. In cabin 13, there lies an uneasy feeling. The feeling of her movements being watched. When a knock on her door revealed a body on her porch and her name written on a piece of paper in the dead man’s hand. Suddenly, her worlds collide.

With the past still haunting her, Emma must fight past her own demons to stop the body count from rising.

The woods have secrets. And this idyllic town has dark and murderous ones. Either, she reveals them or risk them claiming her, too.

In Feathered Nest, nothing is what it seems.

The girl in cabin 13 is about to find out that the dead may have secrets of their own.

The Girl in Cabin 13 is the first book in the Emma Griffin Mystery series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Whoa. Not what I expected!

Great read! I had the bad guy narrowed down to two people but did not expect what happened in the end!!

Not a fan.

The ending was pretty good, but it was a chore getting there. I felt like the heroine wasn’t believable. If I hadn’t known she was an FBI agent, I would never have pegged her as such. The story went around in circles, and when it finally got to the end, it happened very quickly. I’m sure the next one will be better, but I likely won’t be listening.

It keeps you guessing.

Towards the middle of the book I had my suspicion of who the killer was but was surprised when I learned why. There's a lot of depth and storyline especially at the end. Just when you think it's over it's not! The narrator takes getting used to, she's even-toned throughout and it's not so great during the exciting parts of the book.

Good

Good intriguing plot. For Emma she goes undercover to find out what is going on in this small town. Only to find a dead body on her doorstep. Then her past with the disappearances of loved ones come up. Enjoyed the narration by Claire. Given audio for my voluntary review

can't recommend it

The story shows a lack of any real understanding of FBI protocol and is poorly narrated
I almost didn't finish it but persevered only to be more disappointed.

Boring

Number one problem was the narrator. Just not impressed with the story. Good ending though

Cabin23

A reasonable story not the best for for me but everyone needs to form their own opinion

Meh

it's was pretty middle of the road all around. the person I suspected early on ended up being the bad guy. No big surprise there. Emma is immature and unprofessional but that means there's room for her to grow. I have enough hope that I will read the next one.

An Interesting Listen!

This is the perfect book for an audiobook! I mean, it is spooky season, and thriller/crime books are obviously a must, and listening to them on audiobook just amps it up a level. I mean why read about killers when you can listen to stories about them (and I mean, with everyone's obsession with true crime podcasts audiobooks are clearly the next step).

Now, this was an extremely enjoyable book, but there were some things that had me hesitating. Mostly it was our main characters.... lack of almost common sense? And for an FBI agent that is almost certainly an accident waiting to happen. BUT, that also meant that there was plenty of drama on top of the already wild plot. So, while it was a slight drawback I still wildly enjoyed this story. So stick with this one because it does get intense and wild a few chapters in and your mind will be working through all of the clues throughout the book!

Since this is a series I cannot wait to dive into book two! I'm especially looking forward to how/if Emma develops throughout the next installment! But if you're in the mood for a crime story that you can just sit back and enjoy then this is a great selection! So kick back with all the spooky season comforts and get ready to try and solve a murder case!

Annoying character

I didn't like the narrator or the fact that the main character had to explain every single thought in her head. the character's actions were not believable. No way she had so many confrontations and walked away so easy from each one.
