'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring inside Agent Emma Griffin's house.

But then out of nowhere a dark shadow appeared.

And all of a sudden this holiday season was no longer filled with cheer.

After facing many misfortunes throughout her life, FBI Agent Emma Griffin has opted to make work her main priority. And although much time has passed, there are still certain cases that continue to haunt her, such as the case of Lakyn Monroe.

Emma has grown semi-accustomed to some of the fanfare that occurs during an investigation. But it’s a new situation for her when she is asked to be a consultant on set for a TV series based on a case from her past—a case regarding the strange death of Lakyn Monroe. With this case back on the forefront and the lead actress an eerie reminder of the torment she witnessed from afar, Emma looks into the past in order to somehow avoid future mishaps.

While balancing Sam’s search for his missing cousin and the crimes of the Emperor lurking in the shadows, Emma finds that some things are simply inescapable....

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Unfortunately, not everyone may survive the silent night.

Always great. I wasn't sure I understood what Mya's motivation was to kil Finn and some of the others but still great.

I’ve noticed in the last 3 books in this series that some of the chapters are not in order or are duplicated and accidentally put in the wrong part of the book. This causes some spoilers and definitely a lot of confusion. Overall the story is good and I love this series but I hope they can fix this error

I can't even finish reading...now, then, tomorrow, yesterday, it was super confusing. maybe next time

terrible bouncing back and forth of the storyline.

I follow the series, so of course I’m a fan of it, and will give the next book a try, but this was a huge disappointment. I feel it could have been labeled as a one-off or explanation of (something) or a book short. I tried to finish but didn’t see the point. Slow moving and, yes, the back and forth in Emma’s timeline, along with the actress character’s back and forth were confusing, maybe distracting. Then you include the investigation into what happened to Dean when he was taken…”we’re talking about which now?” I feel I can move to the next book, without finishing this one, and not miss a beat. I had 3 hours left in audiobook and as far as I could tell, no one was going to die and no mystery was going to be solved. At least not a mystery of any significance. Maybe I’m wrong. We’ll see.

Slow and disappointing

Worst book in the series very predictable and slow moving. I love this series but this one was a dud.
