Publisher's summary

Every old house has its secrets, so it comes as no surprise when a relic of a noble Victorian family is discovered in the new home of historical author Nicole Rayburn and her husband Kyle. Curious about the lovely young woman in the sepia photograph, Nicole delves into the history of the family and stumbles on a long-forgotten mystery.

Lily Redmond, daughter of Scotland Yard Superintendent Jason Redmond, vanished without a trace in the spring of 1888. Determined to figure out what happened to Lily, Nicole joins forces with renowned historian Quinn Allenby, whose unique psychic ability might also be required to solve a more recent crime that bears striking similarities to Lily’s disappearance.

Timely

The Lily part of the story is superb and provides much food for reflection about benefits we have in our world and what we may have difficulty keeping. The “present story “ ending macabre. Not my favorite but past books will probably keep me looking for new stories from Irina
Performance as always superb and I definitely look for works by this narrator

YES! YES! YES! AND YES!

I mean, where should I begin without spoiling some wonderful surprises!?!? I won't! However, I'll say this, being a diehard Irina Shapiro fan and having read all of her books from other series, THIS one is my ultimate favorite! It's as if she knew 10 years ago this particular book would one day happen! So beautifully braided and woven together. This is a classic Shapiro novel with bitter-sweet (instead of gut-wrenching sad) tears at the end. I cannot wait for the future of this series. I'm literally sad it's over and that I have to wait another year or two to have a reunion with some of my favorite characters ever. Bravo! Encore! Do it again! I'll be waiting not-so-patiently for Book 6!

The stories just keep getting better and better, as if that were even possible!

It seems trite to say my favorite Shapiro book so far, as that is what I felt the last one I read; however, Irina Shapiro continues to be a wordsmith of the highest order. She is able to weave a story together with surprises and just enough hints to give the reader a clue, then BAM! You get caught unawares…the best trait of a true storyteller. It was delightful to see three different story lines woven together so masterfully. I can hardly wait for the next Nicole Rayburn story and hope to see Quinn Allenby make an appearance. The story is fresh and timeless all rolled into one.

Loved it!

I believe Irina Shapiro is incapable of writing a bad book. I have loved each and every story, but bringing together three series into one was done brilliantly. Hope to see Nicole and Quinn together again!

Absolutely engaging!

Ms Shapiro has definitely mastered the joining of story lines. I was completely enthralled with the storyline and her ability to weave the tale using her other books. This is a definite must listen/read book. Loved it!

the best yet!!

I have been a fan of echoes from the past series and listened to it twice!! possessing some of the gift that Quinn does myself.... although certainly not that extensive... made the series even more special. I've also listened to Redmond and Hayes as well as Nicole Rayburn and enjoyed so much. imagine all 3 in one book!!! I couldn't wait and listened to it in two sittings!! excellent storyline!! 2 missing women separated by time. great mystery, great resolution! can't wait for whatever Ms Shapiro has next to share!!!
