A biblical historical adventure for any season.

A sign in the heavens. A journey into the heart of an empire. A secret mission that could cost them everything.

A rare celestial event not seen in a thousand years sends three Parthian magi on a covert quest to find a newborn king prophesied to change the world. They are joined by Artaban, a brilliant but skeptical scholar haunted by his father’s tragic legacy.

Thrust into a world of deadly political intrigue, the magi are pursued by shadowy agents from their own court and haunted by the ever-watchful legions of Rome. Their treacherous journey across unforgiving deserts is fraught with bandit attacks, sinister plots, and the ghosts of Artaban’s own past.

From the opulent courts of Parthia to the dusty streets of Bethlehem, The Fourth Magi is a sweeping tale of historical richness, heart-pounding suspense, and profound spiritual discovery. It is an unforgettable reimagining of the Christmas story, exploring the clash of empires, the weight of legacy, and the power of a single moment to transform a life of doubt into one of unshakable faith—a story whose themes resonate long after the manger fades from view.

Experience the authentic world of the Nativity story, where faith and doubt intertwine beneath heavenly signs, and discover that sometimes the most valuable gift is the one we least expect to give.

I enjoyed this reimagining of the events which occurred in the journey of the Magi as they interpreted the skies and then began their expedition seeking answers. The descriptive phrases made me feel like I was there with the characters. The story evoked new thoughts for me regarding this historical event, and it increased my admiration for those who undertook this difficult and often dangerous excursion. I thought Andy Robert's narration was good. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

The Bible just touches on the story of the Magi (Three Wise Men) traveling to Bethlehem to see the Messiah. This book creates a wonderful background on this aspect of the miraculous birth of Jesus. I learned a lot about the history of the times and the possible dangers that the Magi encountered on their trip. The author brings these characters to life and you can almost see the story unfold as you listen to their tale.

The book is also a story of faith, both lost and found, as the narrator/fourth Magi struggles with his beliefs. The narrator did a great job and his different voices and inflections brought the story to life. This is a great listen for anyone wanting to know more about this fascinating part of the Christmas story or anyone interested in Biblical fiction.

I enjoyed taking this journey with the Magi. From start to finish, the story will pull you in as the Magi discover the messiah is soon to come. I highly recommend The Fourth Magi. It's a interesting story of how it might have happened as the wise men traveled in difficult times to bring gifts to the baby Jesus. I finished this story days ago and still it lingers in my mind.

I really enjoyed learning what it might have been like for the magi to discover the star of Bethlehem and travel there to find their new King. Very well written. Great descriptions. Danger. Doubts. Perseverance.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book. The narration was probably appropriate, but I found it hard to understand some words, especially names. Would have been better for me if I had read it myself.

There is a way to get the map and pictures that are found in the written book. Very nice.
