Not Bad…

It was missing the shock value of the first two books and frankly I hated Eve from the beginning but it was still good. Theres a thing or two I would definitely change but It’s only because I am selfish!

Picks up half way though, slightly disappointing ending

I felt like it tried to play really hard to the love triangle only to take away that charade at the end. Narrator was really good but wish she sounded a little younger as Avery was 17-18 in this book. The character growth was nice of a little unrealistic. The ending felt a little like a betrayal to book one Avery.

Really Very Bad

This book was bad. It’s bad for all the reasons that books are bad. Bad plot. Bad characters. Bad love triangle. Bad decisions. Bad resolve. Bad writing. And the games in the inheritance games are really bad as well. You would think a billionaire would come up with something more clever than a bunch of word puzzles, decoder rings, and long walks in the woods or tunnels. It’s laughably bad. I only read as far as I did because the reviews were so good that I assumed it wasn’t bad. But I was wrong. It is very bad. It was so bad that I can’t believe it was published and that others think it’s not bad as well. I do not like when things this bad are seen as good. It makes me think I’m crazy. But I am positive that I am not crazy, just as positive I am of this book series being bad. Oh, and it’s also boring. 😊

Great Ending

I wasn't disappointed in the finale of this trilogy. I also really loved the narrator.

Great book. Much better than the second one

The author fixed a lot of the problems I thought existed in the second book. I thought it was done well, As a verifiable chess nerd I will say I find it very difficult to believe that anyone who plays chess even extensively knows descriptive notation. Especially someone so young. They would never have been taught it seeing as it would mess kids up far more than it is useful. Algebraic notation has been the standard for over 40 years, and the same puzzle could have just as easily been done using D4, D5, C4.
I understand that most people couldn't set up a chess board (much less annotate moves) I just think Algebraic makes more sense, nobody knows there's a Queens side and a King side so Queens Bishop has no meaning, and more people could solve the puzzle.
At the same time I appreciate you bringing up Descriptive notation as I believe it's a cool part of chess history, and I'm sorry for the rant.
