Four brothers. Two missions. One explosive read. Jennifer Lynn Barnes returns to the world of her #1 bestselling, TikTok sensation Inheritance Games trilogy, and the stakes have never been higher.

Grayson Hawthorne was raised as the heir apparent to his billionaire grandfather, taught from the cradle to put family first. Now the great Tobias Hawthorne is dead and his family disinherited, but some lessons linger. When Grayson’s half-sisters find themselves in trouble, he swoops in to do what he does best: take care of the problem—efficiently, effectively, mercilessly. And without getting bogged down in emotional entanglements.

Jameson Hawthorne is a risk-taker, a sensation-seeker, a player of games. When his mysterious father appears and asks for a favor, Jameson can’t resist the challenge. Now he must infiltrate London’s most exclusive underground gambling club, which caters to the rich, the powerful, and the aristocratic, and win an impossible game of greatest stakes. Luckily, Jameson Hawthorne lives for impossible.

Drawn into twisted games on opposite sides of the globe, Grayson and Jameson—with the help of their brothers and the girl who inherited their grandfather’s fortune—must dig deep to decide who they want to be and what each of them will sacrifice to win.

When I first started listening to it I had a hard time because of the narrator. The voice used for Avery is horrible! But I started to get used to it as the book went on you kind of have to after listening to 12 hours of it.

Overall, I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. I feel like the clues were very well thought out, and there were twists and turns along the way. I do have to be a little bit. Disappointing there wasn’t as much drama as the previous books. I do think it is a must read if you want to get into more of the information about Jamison and Grayson‘s fathers plus their additional family. In addition, I would just like to say that this book was obviously made because the three previous books were very popular, but this one did not disappoint. Though I don’t think it is necessary to read this book if you enjoyed the ending to the last one.

Was surprised how much I enjoyed!

I hope there are more because they’re just amazing! I wasn’t as big of a fan of this narrator as opposed to the other from the other 3 books but it didn’t ruin the story for me.

Love all these books!

Hooked!! I love these books! Once again, Jennifer Lynn Barnes does not disappoint! I should have reread The Final Gambit before reading because I have a few lingering questions, but I'll do it now!! I love the open ending because I hope that means that another game is coming! 🤞

The third book ended so well I didn’t know if I wanted to keep listening, but this one was very well done. I loved the games and challenges presented to the brothers, loved the story. I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

Keep listening!

Loved seeing the story from Grayson and Jamison POV. You also got to see a little more of their past.

I was excited for another book with Avery and the Hawthorne boys. This one was a little different than the other but still a good book except for the narrator. He was so flat and boring. It was hard to tell characters apart. And that is not how my Jamesone sounds when he calls Avery heiress.

Ugh the narrator

The Brothers Hawthorne is a bit misleading in title, though not in accurate. Jameson and Grayson are two brothers at the forefront this time around. Jameson and Avery, are on a Quest to help Jameson’s father win back his ancestral home from an underground gambling den The Devil’s Mercy. Can Jameson face his hardest opponent yet, himself? Grayson’s little sister is in trouble and he rushes off to save the day. Can he save his family without giving away Hawthorne Secrets? Both boys have much internalized trauma to work through and this book focuses mainly on that.
The Brothers Hawthorne is just as well written as the first 3 books and hasn’t lost its shine in any way. I do wish that there was more of Nash and Xander in this book, hopefully they will get their own. I found there to a lot of viewpoint switching in this book. It was very hard at times to keep track of the flash back and when they were occurring. This could have been an issue with the audio vs the print since I wouldn’t be seeing any type set or font changes. There is a ton of important character growth in this book but not at the expense of the suspense. It’s incredibly well rounded and easy to fall completely into the story. I can’t wait for the next!
I listened to this on audible and quite enjoyed the performance by Jay Ben Markson. While there wasn’t much distinction between characters voices, he did change his voice when speaking for male and female characters vs regular narrations. Markson’s voice was smooth and pleasant to listen to. I wouldn’t mind listening to more books narrated by him.
