Not grounded in science
A lot of the points advanced in the book are not grounded in science. E.g., IV vitamin C therapy would actually result in a pro-oxidant effect and in turn be counterproductive. Constant upregulation of AMPK through keto (or any other mean) would cause catabolism, whereas the benefit of fasting actually comes from refeeding. Dihydroberberine, which I use as a supplement, isn't nearly as effective as other means of reducing blood sugar, such as metformin. I recommend reading books by Valter Longo and other longevity scientists, not someone whose background is in business.

Very solid read
Shawn does a phenomenal job explaining things in an easily digestible, and understandable way for the non-scientific reader. Each chapter ends with a terrific “formulator’s corner” that summarizes the various interventions, hacks, supplements, etc.
Would recommend for anyone looking to better understand human optimization and the tools of the trade.

Palatable, relatable, well written and well read
I love listening to audiobooks written by the author, the genuine passion and explanation that comes through makes it so much more enjoyable. The amount of information and the way it was told makes it easy for anyone to understand, relate and apply the information. Shawn’s personal story is compelling and makes the book feel like a conversation with someone who cares about you.

Too fast paced
An excellent resource on nutrition, health and well being. Unfortunately the pace of reading of this audio book is too fast to follow along. However the web site associated with the book has an excellent cross referenced resources document to locate the various companies/products mentioned all along in this book. I recommend the print version of the book rather than this audio book.
