A lonesome widower, Clay Emmerick III no longer allows his homes to be decorated for the holidays. It brings back too many painful memories of his recently deceased wife.
A decorator, Tess is excited to have landed a holiday decorating project for a billionaire's home in Beverly Hills. It will provide a boost to her decorating business's reputation.
Clay hasn't encountered a human with such powerful fae blood flowing in her veins for a long time. Tess finds herself in the midst of eons-old magic and in the process, discovers her true nature as a koiaa; a human mate to a dragon shapeshifter.

Dragon Short
This is a short story that could be an introductory novella to a series of more full-length novels, but I am not sure about that. To me, because of the very short length, it was more of a fairy tale than a story, if that makes sense. It's a glimpse into a world, but it's enough of a glimpse to intrigue the listener into wanting another taste. I would definitely be interested in listening to further "adventures" if they materialize.
The narration is good. It IS mostly narration versus performance, and that is perfectly fine for this type of story where the focus is really on 2 main characters with only a bit of supporting "cast" here and there. David Davis does a great job of delivering the written material with a better-than-average grasp of pronunciation, uses the right amount of inflection and emotion and tells the tale well. His only slight deficit is in varying his voice to perform various male and female characters distinctively, and had there been focus on many characters, he might have struggled, but I thought he did a good job with this. Great Short Story Shifter Romance
The story was interesting with some intrigue and suspense. It was surprisingly good for such a short fantasy Romance. The author was able to create great characters and developed the story enough to keep me entertained.
The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life. It was a great short story. It did not end with a cliffhanger and the story was wrapped up nicely with a HEA conclusion.
I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. Great start to a new series. Hopefully she will write more in depth books about this world she created. Perhaps a full length book.

Nice Short Story
This story was long enough to keep me interested yet short enough to get the job done without an over abundance of details. The hero is an old dragon who has had many wives who are remembered by portraits of koiaa pictures and a fish pond. He meets his next wife when she is hired to decorate his home after a hundred years. He defends her from an attack and invites her to live in his home until she is safe. The story weaves itself around his abilities and her abilities because she is part fae. There are several elements of danger involved which help to cement their relationship.
The narrator actually made the story more interesting and helped to move it along.

Lives revealed
Where does The Dragon's Bride rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Not one of my favorites.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration lacked consistent inflection. Even when he was reading dialogue it came out souding like narration.

Interesting story, the beginning pretty good.
Any additional comments?
I was given this book in return for my unbiased honest opinion. I liked this book to be honest but it just needed more to me towards the end. I wasn't a fan of how the maid just left, I just felt the story became rushed at a certain point but narration was good. Overall the story and performance was a solid 3 out of 5. I would listen to it again.

Excellent Short Story
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Emerald Wright did an excellent job with this short story. It was great to listen to something short, light, sexy, and uplifting. This story of a decorator, Tess Donovan, decorating the mansion of a dragon shifter, Clay Emmerick III. There is a bit of action and suspense along with the romance. Emerald wrote a very creative, solid and complete story that is only over an hour long. It had a great start, middle and ending. The whole package was worth listening to. I really enjoyed it.
