Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Private investigator Wyatt West finds his job a little tedious most days, but that changes when he meets a bewitching blonde florist who needs a favor in the way of a wedding date. There's definitely something magical about her, but little does he know just how correct that first impression is.

Single mom Marigold Williams finds herself instantly attracted to Wyatt but doesn't dare tell this handsome human that she's a witch and things in Nocturne Falls are a little spookier than he suspects. He’s just a nice guy who’s offered to be her plus one. She doesn’t need to turn his world upside down with the truth over one date.

Despite that agreement, their feelings deepen, and both agree to try a relationship beyond their current temporary arrangement. Now Marigold must tell him about her witchy side. After all, he has a right to know whom he’s dating.

But when Wyatt unwittingly frees some dangerous magic, Marigold knows a life-changing sacrifice is the only way to set things right. Will her magic save him? And will he be able to handle the truth that comes with it?

Another great Nocturne Falls Book

Man.... this book was to short! I’m already waiting for the next one! If you’re like me and love these books you might also want to try The Ghost-in-Law and Miss Fortune Mysteries by Jana Deleon. They have the same funness to them.

Most disappointing

I have listened to all the Nocturne Falls books, and this was the worst. Had little substance and was so predictable.

Cute!

The Detective Wins the Witch is book 10 in the Nocturne Falls series. This book is about Marigold Williams and Wyatt West. Marigold is a witch and a single mother. She is the sister to Pandora who is the main character in book 4 and the daughter of Corette, who is the main character in book 4.5. Wyatt is a Private Investigator and a newcomer to Nocture Falls. He is human and in the town for business when he meets Marigold.

This book is a little more cute than non-stop action like some of the others, but I was all about it. I loved watching the relationship develop and when the suspense and action happened, it was excellent.

I love this series and I recommend it along with the spin-off series, Jayne Frost. I listened to the Jayne Frost series before starting this series and loved it so much that I wanted to read about all of the side characters that appeared in those books.

The narrator is the same for the entire Nocturne Falls series. He does an excellent job!

I continue to love these books

I was hooked on the series from book 1. And I have continued to read every other book after that. Every book is great and they do not disappoint. some of us may have differing opinions on how the characters are voiced or how they are portrayed but there is no denying that these books are amazing and very very entertaining.

HE'S THE MAN FOR THE JOB

Great book. One of my faves in this series. Humble but strong.Curious but open minded. That's Wyatt. Just the kind of person Marigold needs. Single mom, business woman, caring but fearing a life of loneliness. Just the right combination of personalities
needed to take on the greed that's headed their way.

Cute! Light heated romance

I always enjoy stories written by Kristen Painter and especially her Nocturne series. I found the “Detective wins the Witch” a light hearted, enjoyable read!
My only criticism is the narrators mis-pronunciation of the word “peony”! Grrrr...how can anybody mis-pronounce “peony”?! The narrator deserves a rating better than a two! Otherwise he was very good.

So cute!

I’m so glad I came across this series! Every story is so perfect and leaves you with a happy smile on your face! I like that the characters are further along in their lives and have lived real life experiences but are still open to finding love and happiness!

Too much character thinking

Too much of the characters thinking and not much storyline. Usually love her books.
