Little Disappointed

Overall since I love the world Duncan had built for this series and his accompanying series, this felt extremely rushed, would of loved for there to be a 4th. the series was good, but a very rushed ending.

Thrilling Story, Ending Felt Rushed

While this was an excellent novel and I'd 10/10 recommend reading the whole series to anyone who enjoys fantasy, the pacing of the plot felt a bit rushed towards the end.

Around the 2 hours to the end mark it was clear where things were going for their conclusion, and the ending did end up tying everything together in a wonderful twist. But the end felt abrupt given this was the end to a trilogy with a large amount of backstory and multiple plot threads. There was nothing like an epilogue and the final duel, as it were, felt less developed than the conflict in the opening chapter of the book. Still finish the series if you've read the first two novels!

John Lee was excellent, but with a slightly more limited variety of voices than other narrators that makes it difficult to differentiate minor characters.

Awesome as always!

I loved the whole book!the ending was quick and perhaps a bit rushed. But why not? The more I think about it, the more I realize it was PERFECT!

Good final novel

I have enjoyed this book and the narration of it. I felt that it was a little wordy and full of thoughts that really seemed to meander on a little nonsensically. The adventurers turned librarians and a vast majority was thoughts on book finding and book research and book knowledge. All good things if I’m the one doing it, but hearing about someone else doing it so thoroughly got a little dull. (Spoiler Alert! ) The ending was a nice twist but sadly lacking. It seemed rushed and the big bad horror of a demon king turned out to be bested pretty easily by a thug as an afterthought. That was disappointing. And Mumfred died like a pansy too after all his big talk. I guess what I’m saying is it was a little anticlimactic for what I was expecting. Also, I kept expecting their dead comrade that was killed by the demons to pop back up. It would’ve been a gripping meeting for them to be faced with him as a foe. Or maybe he could’ve shown up and aided them in the end, but we never hear from him again. Kinda left us hanging on that one. However, I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy the book. It was a good listen and the fight scenes were enjoyable. Conrad was a good hero and I’m really glad he lived to keep fighting.

The Demon Hunter

I really enjoyed it! I like the writer and the fact that he references characters from other books too.

Great storyteller

The whole series was amazing but the ending of this book felt rushed…almost like he was just wanting to finally get the series done and it couldn’t happen fast enough. The other books in this series were very well done. Thank you Mr. Hamilton for an awesome story!!!

Good story

The story was good. Id agree that end felt rushed. I like how tidy it was also was missing something. With that said, these books are much better than most fantasy I’ve come across but I’d stop short of calling it great. The Wolf of the North series is much better.

The narrator was great with just one big exception- initially you cant always tell who’s talking or that the perspectives had changed.

But I listened to it all and enjoyed it so that’s a win! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for other books by author.

Rushed unlike other books from author

This story was so rushed, pretty much read the whole series for it all to happen in the last 2 chapters.

Disappointed

The ending felt rushed and anticlimactic. The first two books of the series were good, but the final book left much to be desired.
