While this was an excellent novel and I'd 10/10 recommend reading the whole series to anyone who enjoys fantasy, the pacing of the plot felt a bit rushed towards the end.

Around the 2 hours to the end mark it was clear where things were going for their conclusion, and the ending did end up tying everything together in a wonderful twist. But the end felt abrupt given this was the end to a trilogy with a large amount of backstory and multiple plot threads. There was nothing like an epilogue and the final duel, as it were, felt less developed than the conflict in the opening chapter of the book. Still finish the series if you've read the first two novels!

John Lee was excellent, but with a slightly more limited variety of voices than other narrators that makes it difficult to differentiate minor characters.

Thrilling Story, Ending Felt Rushed

I found this final book in the series highly enjoyable. Not quite the ending I expected in how it all occurred. No spoilers from me hopefully.

Highly enjoyable end to series

Overall since I love the world Duncan had built for this series and his accompanying series, this felt extremely rushed, would of loved for there to be a 4th. the series was good, but a very rushed ending.

Little Disappointed

Great narration and writing as usual, but I agree with the other reviewers that the ending felt very rushed and wasn’t given an appropriate amount of time. There should have been a 4th book dedicated to the ‘final battle’ instead of what we got. Only other complaint is that while it was nice to have the protagonists from the other trilogies mentioned/shown. There was little impact. A 4th book would have allowed for more interaction between all of the protagonists that would have been interesting to read. All said, I’m still very much looking forward to future novels taking place in this world.

Great, but should have been book 3 in a 4 book series

This 3 book series clearly should've been 4. The Arthur made such a big deal about the big boss demon and his potential to create an army but we never got to see his army battle or the big boss actually be used. what's worse the Arthur brings back important characters from another earlier series and mentions another important character from another earlier series( chapter 40) yet we don't get to see them in action or interact with one another smh! This book should've focused on the war itself half way thru with Conrad, wolfric, and seren interacting and fighting in the war against the demon army with book 4 being the Conclusion.

P.S what the Arthur chose to do with the big boss demon was truly terrible it would be like switching Darth Vader as the big bad for Lando at the last minute smh!

alot of missed opportunities. should've been 4 books in all

Great twists, excellent resolution. Duncan M Hamilton never disappoints. Great performance as well. Interesting accent choices.

Satisfying end to the trilogy

Started out strong, but the ending came off rushed and nonsensical. I still prefer his trilogy about the Knights of the Silver Chalice.

Decent. Could have been better...

I was eagerly awaiting the third of the trilogy as the first piqued my interest and the second was an unexpected improvement on the first. The third just feels like a little bit of a let down:

SPOILER OPINION BELOW

Usually in Hamilton’s works, the bully is only ever a bully or mini-boss. Expanding and empowering Manfred felt like a poor choice to me. We just saw the adversary gain magical power in the dragon hunter trilogy. Outside of that Niccolo and Hiedi were relegated to secondary characters. Severine had more opportunity to grow or be expanded upon below. Luther was a great surprise. He flourished in his expanded role. The teasing of Wulfric and Soren would have been better suited in a fourth book involving a team up of all the studs from previous series. It would have been cliche but it would have been a marked improvement from this third one. Still a fun ride, but oh what it could have been. I liked Fanrac and we barely got any of him

Felt Incomplete - Rushed

A bit of an abrupt ending, but hey, kill the bad guy you’re fine, right? Good narration but spacing between plot line shifts could be better, I often got lost on who was talking. Part of that is of course character voices aren’t that varied. Still, I liked the series…

Good story, well presented

I loved the whole book!the ending was quick and perhaps a bit rushed. But why not? The more I think about it, the more I realize it was PERFECT!

Awesome as always!
