Poor choice of female narrator

I listen to an audible every day so know that when I say the female narrator was a poor choice, it’s true. She sounds like a prepubescent male. I honestly thought I was listening to the brother every time she spoke. I normally read while listening but last night I just listened to the audible. I am debating sending this one back and just reading the book.

Wrong Voice for Bailey

For me, Baileys voice just didn't fit her character, it wasn't soft enough, not enough emotion. The overall book was just lacking to me compared to book 1.

Wow!

Usually I read a book before I buy the audiobook. Not this time. I did follow along a little with my own ebook but these narrators did not disappoint. Tijan is absolutely amazing and never ceases to pull me into a book. The world she has created with this series might become a new favorite of mine!

Love and war

This story is an emotional journey, full of big and raw feelings. Heroine Bailey is hurting inn this book, trying to find her balance in this new world. I missed her in action, even if Kash (the hero of this story) took good care of her. I wish I see more girlpower in the last book. That said, I enjoyed this story, narration was really good, would have liked to hear more Kashes POV but overall really addicting book! Can’t wait to listen the next one.

Solid as a Rock

I really enjoyed the 2nd book in this amazing trilogy. Tijan provides all the necessary interest and layers a middle book needs to make the reader want the last satisfying third book.

Enjoyed it.

I see a lot of negative reviews for the female narrator. I have to agree but I got past it since the story is good.

One thing I like about this book is that it’s not so sexually descriptive. Sometimes some authors overdo it and takes away from the story. This one is tastefully done.

I’m off to the 3rd installment.

Amazing Series!

This is the second book in The Insiders Trilogy. Kash and Bailey's story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is fast-paced, filled with drama, angst, secrets, and twists and turns. There is a lot going on in this installment, which is exceptional when it comes to a second book in a trilogy, and I appreciated it! I liked Kash's protectiveness. The cast of side characters is impressive. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. The world building is enthralling. The story mostly is told from Bailey's POV, and fortunately this time we got chapters from Kash's POV, which is great! Emma Galvin and Joe Arden did an excellent job with the narration. Now I am looking forward to listening to The Revenge, the last book in the trilogy.

Can’t wait for the next book

I love Tijan, since I first read Fallen Crest I fell in love with all of her books. I have not yet found a story that I don’t get fully absorbed in. This is no different, I was lost in this story from the very beginning. The love and devotion Cash has for Bailey is amazing and the suspense through this book keeps me on my toes. The end had me so sad and angry! I am so ready for book 3!

That was Hellishly Good!💥

The Damaged (The Insiders Trilogy #2)
By: Tijan
Audiobook 🎧
Narrated by: Emma Galvin, Joe Arden
Length: 8 hrs and 59 mins

Bailey has to try and navigate life as a graduate student with people knowing she's Peter's daughter and Kash's girlfriend. If that's not overwhelming enough, there's also her trauma still lingering from the two kidnap attempts! Someone close, at school maybe? Is leaking information via her family's loathed blogger stalker.

Bastion makes moves, and Kash is severely unsettled because he seems to be targeting Bailey! Can Matt help give Bailey cover, or will he just continually mess up? What is Kash up to with Victoria??😳

I liked the characters from school, not all, but the added value of them. The character progression for Matt & Peter, in particular, was pretty impressive. They both seemed to have their own separate 'come to jesus' moments about themselves and their own behaviour going forward!👍 This was brutal reading at times. I really felt for Bailey and her attempt at coping mechanisms.

Oh my word, that ending!😳 Well, there were kind of two. The reveal from Bailey, then a new character is brought in that we know NOTHING about!😲 They're both *huge* cliffhangery hooks!

I liked both narrators. I do think the male was under utilised though, and it's such a shame.😔 Roll on book #3. Yes, I've already pre-ordered it on Audio and ebook!🌟

I need book 3 pronto

The Damaged continues on directly from book 1, The Insiders, and sees Bailey navigating her newfound status as Peter Frances’s daughter and Kashton Colello’s girlfriend. In fact the relationship between Kash and Bailey is going from strength to strength, and it would appear that nothing can break their connection, but plenty are trying, I can assure you of that. I love the family ties that Bailey is forming, of course there is lots of drama within the families and within the friendship circle, that said she is definitely forming a tribe in this book, which was good. Kash continues to do ‘business’ all while fighting for and protecting Bailey from any threats, visible, and invisible. We’re also left with a whopper of a cliffhanger, I’m just praying that Bailey can come back from her trauma, and that she does it with Kashton by her side. I listened to the audio version, because well, Joe Arden, he wasn’t in too many chapters but I still got my fix. Emma Galvin was brilliant yet again as Bailey. I am in dire need of book 3.

Good book

This was bk 2 in this trilogy. I was super impressed with the first book but I’m disappointed in this one. The writing was excellent and the story was well told. I read a book for a HEA. This was not that. I’m gutted. This is because I thought better of the writer. I deemed it unnecessary with what she did. I won’t be finishing the story now. It’s spoilt it for me completely. Not sure I want to even read any more of her books . The narrators as always were excellent.

Extraordinary follow up!!

Loved every bit of this, including the dual POVs. Ends on a massive cliffhanger thankfully only waiting until Sept for the third book!
