Publisher's Summary

Inspired by real crimes.

From the author of the number-one best-seller, The Good Lawyer.

A serial killer is littering the South Shore beach of Long Island - the bones of his victims stuffed into burlap bags. Nick Mannino, The Good Lawyer, is living off the ill-gotten gains of his deceased mobster uncle, when, without warning, a brutal serial killer turns on him, and worse, his family.

As much a thriller as it is a mystery, with an ending as riveting as that in Silence of the Lambs, The Criminal Lawyer is also a love story, a novel of family secrets, and crimes beyond forgiveness.

loved it

Enjoyed the storyline and the narrator. This is the second Thomas Benigno novel and I like the law mystery.

Excellent suspense thriller!

I'm happy I did not stop with the first novel of this series. The Criminal Lawyer is lot a legal thriller at all although the protagonist did practice criminal law in the past. The first book in this two novel series was set in 1979 while The Criminal Lawyer is set in 2010. This novel is an exciting and action packed suspense thriller wrapped around a story of love and family. It is a fun and satisfying listen. Narration is superb.

Awesome

Loved the characters and the story. At times I asked myself is this really plausible? Then I found myself weeping as I was listening while on the the treadmill.

Refreshing

The book was amazing. Kept me on the edge of my seat. The most refreshing thing was the ending. Lots of book tie up some of the loose end in the last chapter. This book went into detail about anyone of importance! It was fun finding out what happened to everyone that you read about. I wish more authors did that!!

disappointing after the first one I read

way too much diversity for my taste. the ultimate politically correct treatise. the goal must have been 2 include as many races as possible. my least favorite was the selfish wasp family. white people didn't look too good in this book.

I Couldn't Stop Listening

This is the best audio book I've listened to in years: great story, great writing, and great narration.

Great Story! It Rings True.

I enjoyed the story, the suspense, the action and the love story. It had an edgy New York feel to it.

I'll have to read it myself

Struggled to finish. It was too monotone for me. I just wasn't able to become "captured" enough. I can't say whether it got any better after the 1st chapter. :(

Enjoyed this book!

This book had something a bit different about it and ‘hooked’ me into the story. It was very well narrated too which always helps. I liked it enough to dowload the next in the series which I’m looking forward to reading.

Rushed ending

I enjoyed the first in this series. This one was merely ok. The ending of the book felt rushed. It seemed as if the author just decided to explain everything quickly rather than write the actual story. Excellent narration though.
