Publisher's Summary

Like most people, you probably wake up, get hungry for meals and doze off in bed around the same time every day. If you've ever experienced jet lag or pulled an all-nighter, you know that this schedule can easily be thrown off kilter. But for some people, that imbalance or difficulty sleeping at night, hunger at odd times, or sudden fatigue at noon is a constant. If you're one of those people, Dr. Satchin Panda, one of the leading researchers on circadian rhythms, has a plan to reset your body clock.

Beginning with an in-depth explanation of the circadian clock - why it's important, how it works, and how to know it isn't working - The Circadian Code outlines lifestyle changes to make to get back on track. It's a concrete plan to enhance weight loss, improve sleep, optimize exercise, and manage technology so that it doesn't interfere with your body's natural rhythm. Dr. Panda's life changing methods show you how to prevent and reverse ailments like diabetes, cancer, and dementia, as well as microbiome conditions like acid reflux, heartburn, and irritable bowel disease.

Poor narration of a great book

I started reading the Circadian Code on Kindle. It's superbly written, making some very complex circadian science easy to understand and interesting. So I got the Audible version so that I could listen to it. Unfortunately the narrator gives this a cold read that loses the liveliness of the book. You almost feel like the narrator doesn't really like the book. Really unfortunate. After listening to a chapter of it I stopped listening and won't go back to the Audible edition. Best to read it myself.

READ THIS BOOK FOR BETTER HEALTH

Reading this book will improve your life! For the past 100 years we have been focused on what to eat and what to do for better health. And especially in the past 30 years we (Americans in particular) have gotten sicker.

Sure our lifespans have increased, although I head the 2018 is likely to mark the first time in American history where the average lifespan has decreased 3 straight years, but what about health span.

One does not need to run a double blind controlled experiment to see that Americans are fatter and sicker at an earlier age than at anytime in recent memory.

I believe a large reason is that we got WHAT we should eat very wrong. But that is a topic for another review on another book (like What the Heck Should I eat by Dr. Mark Hyman.)

If you eat a Vegan, Paleo, Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) or are totally confused about what a healthy diet looks like and just want to enjoy what you eat, following Dr. Panda's advice of WHEN to eat, exercise and sleep will improve your health and life

Buy a hard copy of this book

As a frequent listener of audio books, The Circadian Code narrator is, without question, the worst “voice” I have ever heard. The voice sounds computer automated and the inflections are off. If you enjoy or dislike audio books based on the voice of the reader, think twice before you purchase an audio version of The Circadian Code. Buy a hard copy of the book & enjoy your own voice!

I couldn’t stop listening...

If you want to change your life without a lot of effort, this book is for you. If you don’t like the narrator, don’t let that stop you from listening. The content is that good.

It all makes sense now

I loved this audio book. It gives me hope ! I have suffered for years with a broken sleep pattern . Never imaging that TRE could help . I am a 57 year old female and am about 50lbs over weight. I have tried many diets over the years as well as the Keto diet and fasting . I have lost the same 20 to 30 lens many times never quite reaching my goal and always gaining a little more back . I think my lack of sleep has been by biggest obstacle. If I could sleep I think my whole life would be different.

Fantastic book!

However, the Narrater is horrible. Fight through the beginning and you will get used to it.

Good information

I enjoyed the information provided in the book but had a hard time getting past the narrator’s voice. I thought that I was experiencing one of those bad driving safety films from high school.

Great book, narrator was distractingly robotic

I appreciated the information in the book, although the narrator was very hard to listen to and I found myself feeling quite annoyed. Even my family commented on his robotic voice. My husband and I usually listen to books because of our busy schedule, and I would’ve loved for him to listen to it - but I don’t think he will because of the narrator.

Get the hardcopy book, narrator ruins it.

I am so interested in this subject and was really looking forward to this book after hearing the author on a podcast. However, I could not get past the narrator. His voice was arrogant and at the same time condescending as if he was reading to three-year-olds. In all the years I’ve been a member this was only the second book I’ve returned. So disappointed. I will get the actual hardcopy book and read that
