A thriller that poses complex social and philosophical questions. It may move too slowly for some, but not for those who enjoy a thinking person's mystery.

When Jenny is looking at the dead girl and thinking what if....

Another stand alone. Very good.
Our, Coroner, Superwoman pulls at one loose thread too many and we're off - you will have made a pot of coffee. or poured a wine - before starting this. Once started this book will keep you listening to the smashing end.

Coroner Jenny Cooper’s inexplicable adventure!

Both author Matthew Hall and narrator Sian Thomas are a perfect combination. As Coroner Jenny Cooper takes on her next case, this flawless, complexellent thriller, there are numerous twisty turns, surprises. The ending, though, is a bit over-the-top and too drawn out. Sian Thomas proves again why she has always been a favorite narrative performer of mine. I paid $9.93 (I save my cherished credits for pricier audiobooks).

Fascinating story

I have devoured the Jenny Cooper novels one by one. The independent coroner inquest is very different from the system in my country, and the mysteries have been fascinating, this one in particular. I am less interested in the resolution of Jenny’s personal troubles but that in no way detracts from my enjoyment of these books. As always the narration is stellar. Highly recommended.
