Today John is joined by a well-known priest and author to men, Fr. Roger Landry. We discuss his call to the priesthood, the abuse scandal in Boston, and how to avoid effeminacy as a man. We often associate effeminacy with men acting like women, but the reality, as St. Thomas Aquinas teaches, it is the vice directly opposed to perseverance and courage. How does this show itself today and how can we as men reject this vice? 🔴 SPONSOR - Napa Institute - https://www.thenapaconference.org Coupon Code: CG50Napa Fr. Today Sam and John are joined by a dynamic speaker and expert on the subject of racism, Dcn. Harold Burke-Sivers. We are all aware of the ideological movements involving race in our society today, the Black Lives Matter Movement, Critical Race Theory, and White Privilege to name a few. So how are we as Catholic men supposed to navigate this very delicate and often heated topic? How do we avoid taking a passive, avoidance, or even subservient role on this issue and instead bring love and Christ into the conversation? 🔴 All Things Dcn. Today Sam and John are joined by an incredible Catholic man, professor, and author, Dr. Anthony Esolen. In his new book, "No Apologies: Why Civilization Depends on the Strength of Men", he gets straight to the point from history, societal development, biology, and observation. He goes to the core of masculinity to return to men the joy of their manliness. We live in distorted times and this conversation is just scratching the surface of the truth that all men must understand. 🔴 Books for Everyman The Hundredfold - https://www.amazon.com/Hundredfold-Songs-Lord-Anthony-Esolen/dp/1621642925/ref=sr_1_1 No Apologies - https://www.amazon.com/No-Apologies-Civilization-Depends-Strength-ebook/dp/B09MDL9CTF/ref=sr_1_1 🔴 Dr. Anthony Esolen's Online Magazine Word and Song - https://anthonyesolen.substack.com/about Episode - https://anthonyesolen.substack.com/p/soliloquy-of-the-spanish-cloister#details 🔴 SUPPORT THE CATHOLIC GENTLEMAN Become a supporter of The Catholic Gentleman on Patreon and get incredible gifts as a thank you for your support: https://www.patreon.com/catholicgentleman Learn more about your ad choices. If you have any doubts about your Catholic faith

Listen to this podcast. I'm a woman of Catholic upbringing and just listening to John and Sam reaffirms my Catholic faith. The church is full of old traditions that are ingrained in our psyche. These traditions play such a valuable and important role in our daily practice. Being Catholic is a lifestyle. We don't just punch in and out on Sundays. Through their podcast, John and Sam explore and explain what being Catholic is. I'm glad I found this podcast because I know I'm not alone in seeking a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith.
