Camping Cookbook

The title and description lead me to believe this book was about making your own way with food gather and prep in the wilderness. Instead it is primarily about cooking at a well stocked campsite or backpacking trip.

Here are my primary (admittedly snarky) take aways:

1. You should put Old Bay Seasoning on everything. Both while preparing food and when served to "season to taste" (count how many times you hear that).
2. Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Butter & Garlic is awesome
3. Dutch ovens are the most versatile cooking device ever made
4. If you want to hunt, a very specific 12 gauge single shot 36 inch barrel 3 inch chamber shotgun with a few mods is the tool of choice
5. How to use said weapon to actually hunt something... zero information

Snarky aside, you will enjoy the book most if your goal in reading or listening is to learn how to prepare food that you primarily pack in.
