Publisher's summary

A smart and delightful romantic comedy featuring fabulous female friendships and "a great love story" (Jasmine Guillory, best-selling author of Party of Two).

Samiah Brooks never thought she would be "that" girl. But a live tweet of a horrific date just revealed the painful truth: She's been catfished by a three-timing jerk of a boyfriend. Suddenly, Samiah - along with his two other "girlfriends", London and Taylor - have gone viral online. Now, the three new besties are making a pact to spend the next six months investing in themselves. No men and no dating. For once, Samiah is putting herself first, and that includes finally developing the app she's always dreamed of creating. Which is the exact moment she meets the deliciously sexy Daniel Collins at work. What are the chances? But is Daniel really boyfriend material, or is he maybe just a little too good to be true?

"A smart, funny digital-age romance about real women living in the real world. Couldn't put it down!" (Abby Jimenez, USA Today best-selling author of The Happy Ever After Playlist)

Not bad

The story was predictable but entertaining. While the lead was fully developed, I felt the friends were very two dimensional. The out come was easy to see and left very shorthanded. I wish that it could’ve been more fully fleshed out. I would recommend the book though and enjoyed the listen.

Fairly Good

I say fairly good because it was far too heavy on lust and far too little on plot and story. The author attempts to drive home important issues black educated women face but uses the all too common villain of the silly blond Caucasian woman which is a tired form of stereotyping which lacks credibility and reveals resentment more than garnering empathy. If these two professional minorities were truly focused and accomplished role models, the author shouldn't have made them so lust-driven and easily distractable from their goals. It came off as inauthentic even though the story was somewhat entertaining, though often redundant.

This book is one of my favorites! I love the character development and story. This is definitely an example of strong black women who support one another and aiming to do their best in life. Their stories are inspiring and make you feel good. I highly recommend! Do yourself a favor and read the trilogy.

Great characters but repetitive internal monologue

my feelings were mixed. The characters were great - very strong females and I loved that our heroine was a talented programmer. I also liked the emphasis on female friendship. The narrator did a great job giving all the characters distinct voices. the main drawback was that the internal monologues of our main characters were incredibly repetitive. when I was hearing them explain to themselves for the 30th time all the reasons they shouldn't date each other, it got a little frustrating.
