Publisher's summary

The Book of Mormon Storybook for Little Saints is a collection of 50 Book of Mormon stories, adapted for children and parents. We focus on telling the story so that the characters' humanity and the core doctrinal principles they depended on shine forth: primarily, God so loved the world. While our book is primarily intended for young children, we have crafted the stories with the idea that it ought to be meaningful and inspiring for children as well as their parents. We want to help make the Book of Mormon a gathering place for family members of all ages.

For anyone trying to tell Book of Mormon stories to children, altering the text is unavoidable. A story teller must often decide between focusing on specific details or communicating the essence. With that in mind, the primary goal of this book is not to teach children a summary of events. Instead, we have focused on the artful re-telling of the stories themselves. And each story is driven by testimony—our testimony—which we have condensed into this single sentence: These are stories about a real God who loves real people. We hope that by connecting to scripture more tenderly ourselves, and trying to show the humanity of its population gently, but honestly, our boy will begin to see and learn the goodness and grace of all the world around him. And that, perhaps, we may help others to see it too.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL

It's been hard for me to take on scripture study with my family these last few years. It has felt messy and overwhelming. But, I also want my children to know The Book of Mormon. This came just at the time I was desperate for it. Its devoted focus to the humanity of the people in the stories and to a God that loved His children(who wanted to be good), even heals me. I can skip over my messy and overwhelm(for now), and turn this on. My children love it.THANK YOU GUYS

Marvelous

My children and I enjoyed every minute of this book. It was spiritual, well-read, and well-written in short chapters. My thanks to the authors and narrator.

This is the absolute best tool for scripture study with kids. Deep yet accessible and fun. I love that I could gain profound insights after over 30 years of Book of Mormon study while simultaneously exposing my kids in a beautiful, new way. Thank you for this gift. Beautiful

Such a beautiful and poignant narrative and view of the Book of Mormon without skirting complexity but focusing on the beauty of the gospel.

A beautiful way to get to know the people of the Book of Mormon

I was skeptical at first. How can you share the rich text of the Book of Mormon in ways that even a toddler can understand? But the Sabey’s have done that. The retelling of these stories is simple enough for children to understand and deep enough for adults to enjoy. I know other reviews have already said that this book brought them to tears, but it’s true. Getting to know the character of these people makes me not feel so alone in my own human nature and rebellious and proud state. Thank you for this wonderful adaptation.

Insights into the Book of Mormon for everyone

This book so beautifully shares stories and insights from the Book of Mormon. I know they were written “for little saints” but during some challenging times in my life their sweet gentle message of love was a blessing to me

The Honesty

People are complex humans and that makes faith complex at times. This storybook beautifully warms the heart while showing the complexity of humans trying their best. It’s so beautifully recorded and written. You feel the love of God and the realness of him, His grace and His role. Seriously one of my favorite retellings of the Book of Mormon.

💯 for an anxious child

My young daughter struggles with some anxiety, especially at bedtime. This podcast has been the perfect thing to help her drift off to sleep, without those pestering worries and fears keeping her awake. (We’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts; finding just the right mix of engaging, soothing, and without any scary elements is a challenge.) The music is beautiful and calming, as is the message. The stories are just the right length for a bedtime routine. As I’ve listened with her, I’ve been touched with the unique ways familiar stories are presented. Many focus on aspects I’ve never considered, and a few have caused tears to come to my eyes. Definitely not the same-old, same-old, oversimplification of the Book of Mormon. Beautifully done, and clearly done with the Spirit as a guide. ❤️

6 mins is all it takes

Each chapter is sixish minutes long and six minutes is all it takes to feel the spirit and tears to flow. I saw this book recommended on a IG account that I follow. All she said was “I read the intro to this little book and I’m already in tears.” This book is the sweetest! And you will love Sarah’s voice. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and Sarah has the most tender way of retelling the stories for our little Saints…and those of us bigger Saints listening with them. Each chapter ends with “you are good” little and big Saints sometimes need that reminder. I love it!! Go get this book ASAP!
