In 1820, a young farm boy in search of truth has a vision of God the Father and Jesus Christ. Three years later, an angel guides him to an ancient record buried in a hill near his home. With God’s help, he translates the record and organizes the Savior’s church in the latter days. Soon others join him, accepting the invitation to become Saints through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

I loved hearing this historical account of the early Latter Day Saints and how the Church of Jesus Christ was forged from the hardships and trials of the early Saints. This is a faith filled story of hope and determination and standing with God even when an entire country conspired against them.

God back on earth with us.

True story without editorialization. Very open and honest, with full documentation. Engaging. I look forward to book 2!

uplifting and edifying

I absolutely love this book! It has given me more appreciation for the pioneers that sacrificed so much. I feel that my testimony of my Savior has grown due to the knowledge that I have learned from the content of this book.
