Publisher's Summary

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

Because of its emphasis on "the Love of God" and Jesus' being the incarnation of that Love, many believe this gospel is the most important for new and old Christians alike to take to heart. Written by the "disciple whom Jesus loved", the book of John is organized around seven miracles, seven discourses and seven "I AM" statements. This study is so deep "an elephant can bathe in it, and yet an infant can wade in it."

Preconceptions gone about John

Chuck Missler's exposition of the book of John is refreshing as he doesn't parrot dusty ill conceived theological explanations from academia but dives deep into this with a perspective of information technology and the conveyance of information critical to the understanding of the individual. If more expositors would take this approach toward the Word of GOD we wouldn't be experiencing the exodus out of the church. To the academics you could learn a few things from him, the chief being set your presuppositions aside and follow the evidence in a common sense approach and in this way people will listen. But all to often you puff your positions up with eloquent but empty nonsense. In short do your own homework.

Too many Rabbit trails

Good man, Good information but I was looking for a clear discussion of the Gospel of John. But it is a series of rabbit trails with only a minimal concentration on the actual text.

Remarkable Analysis of Powerful Gospel of John!

Grab your coffee. Strap on your seatbelt. This commentary of John is something you will not be able to listen to without your complete, undivided attention. The book of John, like all precious books of the Bible, is a timeless masterpiece in and of itself. But through Chuck’s 60+ years of studying the Bible and expert teaching, it’s like attempting to skydive, but you end up blasting through the stratosphere like a rocket ship!! That’s how much Missler opens your mind to just how powerful and deep the book of John really is! His attention to details in knowing the scriptures inside out, left and right, up and down is unparalleled compared to other Bible scholars. This is now the 9th commentary I’ve completed from Dr. Missler and each one continues to be unique, fresh and much different from the next study. Again, I cannot stress enough that you WILL NOT be able to listen to this analysis in a noisy place or somewhere you’re easily distracted. This commentary demands your full attention. I’m so thankful to God for helping me discover Chuck!! Over my entire life, I never read my Bible, but those days are long gone. Other than eating, sleeping, going to work or spending time with my family, reading my Bible is all I really do! Once you become a serious student of the word of God, you’ll quickly learn the fleshly desires of this world are FAR LESS important than the spiritual needs of God. God bless you!

Poor narration.

Narrator was distracting. Kept "smacking" his lips. May have had loose dentures. Observations were good.

Awful Bad Bad Really Bad

I'm an hour into this book and really regret it. I want my money back or a swap. Author completely strays from subject every other sentence it seems. Very incoherent. Author insists on impressing the listener with his laymen's grasp of quantum physics rather than the subject matter and intent of the book. Many of his oration is incomprehensible as the volume of his voice often diminishes and he slurs his speech. A waste of money.

Detailed and inspirational

I learned a lot of new things about the shear complexity of John’s gospel. I will listen to this again as there is so much to take in. Excellent!!
