"Finishing Well" is the name of the game. Here was a rich, young ruler - a first century "yuppie" if you will - who, although getting off to a rather problematic beginning, finished well, indeed.
A rich young ruler questioned Christ about what he needed to do to inherit eternal life. Mark's Gospel includes a detail that Matthew and Luke failed to mention: "And Jesus looking upon him loved him..." This hints at the possibility that young John Mark himself may have been that rich young man.

Jonah, the reluctant prophet, was called to prophesy against the pagan capital of the world, Nineveh. He attempted to shun the assignment until God explained it to him a little more clearly! His message to Nineveh: 40 days and you get yours! The greatest miracle in the book of Jonah was Nineveh's repentance, within the allotted 40 days, on speculation! They reasoned that maybe, if they repented, God might change His mind. They did. And He did. A century later, Nahum was sent to ask them to repent and Nineveh failed. Judgment resulted.

A Unique Exploration of the Book of Mark!
If you’re expecting the same narrative commentary as the gospels of Matthew, Luke and John - think again! Chuck Missler’s analysis of the book of Mark is completely different and very meaningful on it's own! I know this because I already completed Chuck’s audiobook of Matthew and I expect the same result when I go through Luke and John. As I continue to learn from Dr. Missler’s Bible studies, I've come to realize God has given Chuck a very special gift to convey the holy word with purpose, power and authority. I don’t know how other bible scholars conduct their teachings, but it will be very challenging to find another one who blends christianity, spiritual discernment, biblical intelligence, humor and wit the way Dr. Missler does. I mean, the guy is a walking Bible encyclopedia! The book of Mark has very powerful verses in it and Chuck does an excellent job bringing each one to life and carefully helps you understand what Jesus’s teachings really meant through Mark’s unique perspective. If you’re someone who struggles to read your Bible like I once did, Dr. Missler can help you overcome that struggle! My diligence with the word of God has now done a complete 180 thanks to almighty God helping me discover Chuck Missler! I hope Chuck’s commentaries will do the same for you too! God bless you!
