Annoying narrators, decent stories

Would you consider the audio edition of The Book of Cthulhu II to be better than the print version?

No, some of the narration is just horrible. Especially the female voice.

What did you like best about this story?

Theres quite a few stories some good some bad, quite a few gems but the Neil Gaiman one definitely isn't it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Teresa DeBerry and Fleet Cooper ’s performances?

No!

If you could take any character from The Book of Cthulhu II out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Cthulu, because he's a giant serving of octo-squid sushi.

Good Lovecraft is hard to come by, BUT...

...both volumes are the best collections I know of. Not super terrifying, but there are some good scary stories here, some even have that Lovecraftian twist at the end. After listening to everything I could find by H.P.L., I was left jonesing, These collections were a great fix. I forgot to mention on the review of volume 1, these could stand being remastered. Sound quality is good, but not great.

Spotty, generally ok.

most of the stories were good, while others were soso, with a one or two quite bad. performance was good.

A new level of mythos writing.

Very interesting collection of stories. well performed with only a few flubs. the various authors of this collection should be applauded. I was wholly impressed. I wish there was more.

Stellar.

A great collection of stories, each true to the genre. Lovecraftian themes present in all; subtly in some, front and center in others. Very satisfying.

Good Follow Up

Good follow up to the first book. The Laird Barron story at the end, Hand of Glory, is worth the price of admission alone. The Michael Chabon story featured in the book was another favorite of mine.

Easy repeat listening

I've listened to pretty much all these stories more than 100x over the 4yrs I've owned it. Never disappointed, never bored, if it was a textbook it would be in pieces. The 1st BoCh is also excellent

Actually far better than the first collection!

I gotta say, there's some real gems in this collection! While none of the stories are less than engaging, probably four I consider to be truly great- not just as Lovecraftian, but as pure horror- and in one case, sci fi!

Definitely worth the credit!

The book of Cthulhu ||

This is not an all around fun H.P. Lovecraft classic. The language is not my cup of tea, because of smutty characters.

Awesome, very few less than great stories.

One or two missteps, more than made up for by many great stories and readings.
