Publisher's Summary

Abigail

I was in big trouble. The biggest. Running out of time, I turned to him. Jacob Winters promised he'd solve all my problems. All I had to do was become his pet. With some men, that kind of deal might have been a nightmare. Jacob Winters was a dream come true.

I was raised to be a lady, not a man's plaything. But with Jacob, I almost had it all; pleasure like I'd never known and protection from the danger stalking me. Was it greedy to want more? I had his body, but I wanted his heart.

I told myself it was just sex. We were providing each other a mutual service, nothing more. Right? I couldn't possibly be foolish enough to fall in love with him.

Jacob

I must have been crazy. I'd wanted Abigail for years, I won't deny it. But I don't pursue married women, and her husband was a disaster waiting to happen. Everything about Abigail warned me to steer clear, including the lady herself. Some women might cheat, but not her. Abigail was too noble for her own good. Beautiful and untouchable. Then her husband was murdered and every dark shadow he'd held back came after Abigail at once.

She was on the run, and I was the only man who could save her. The best things come to men who wait, and I'd been waiting. Abigail was mine. I didn't want a girlfriend. I definitely didn't need a wife. I just wanted her. In my home. In my bed. I was going to own every inch of her elegantly curved body. I'd keep her for as long as I wanted her, and then we'd both walk away. What could possibly go wrong?

The Billionaire's Pet is a standalone romance with a happy ending. It's the third book in the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires series, and reveals more about the notorious men of the Winters family. You can listen to it on its own, everything you need to know from the first book is explained, but once you get a taste of the Winters men you'll want to listen to the others.

I like the series but this was disturbing

Jacob is a horrible person for even suggesting the arrangement. For a smart man he could have handled it differently. This is sex slavery. I continued to listen only because of the reviews, which are also disturbing. Do not waste time, money or credits on this story. Also female narrator's voice is just too high pitched/screechy for me. I have stopped listening to books because of her shrill voice. .

Sexual Slavery is Not Erotic

I am appalled that a female writer could possibly believe that being forced into sexual slavery is an erotic or romantic experience. Seriously, what kind of person would be entertained and/or amused by sexual battery and human slavery?

Since Abagail had absolutely no self respect, and Jacob was a sadistic sociopath without an ounce of human kindness, eventually Jacob would get bored with beating on pathetic Abagail and sell her to another sexual predator. What happened to romantic novels in which the hero actually likes and respects strong, confident women?

LONGER, BETTER & HOOKED ME FROM THE START

Book 3 in Scandals Of The Bad Boy Billionaires series.

Abigail has a mother in a care facility suffering from Alzheimers and her upbringing nurtured her to be nothing more than a privileged socialite so when her father dies leaving them penniless she's forced to marry for the sake of her mother's welfare. Fast-forward a few years - her husband is dead - leaving her in trouble again.. and in the hands of Big John her no good father-in-law who has some very shady and violent plans in store for her. Abigail is seriously stuck and runs away from Big John - but the only thing she has left is her body to barter with.. and that's where Alpha Billionaire Jacob comes in. Abigail and Jacob have been privately eyeing each other at various functions over the years so when Abigail goes to Jacob offering to do ANYTHING if he'd help her out of a bad situation.. Jacob comes up with his sexy plan - be his pet.

Jacob can't believe his luck.. he's never wanted strings but has always lusted after Abigail and now she can be his.. on his terms - live with him, do his sexual bidding and ask for no more - and in return he'll take care of everything. It was a good plan - and it turned out that Abigail was more than willing (and happy) to fulfill his desires but Big John was looking for Abigail, he had a deal arranged with a biker gang and he wasn't going to stop until he'd got her back - but the body count would be high.

I've listened to a few sub/Dom books but they're not really my thing and when I saw 'Pet' I thought it MIGHT fall into that category but took the chance anyway.. and thankfully it wasn't a sub/Dom book. Yes, Jacob was a demanding sexy Alpha but nothing sexually demeaning or in bad taste. To start their budding relationship off there were sexy scenes, a spanking and a toy or two.. but the more time Abigail and Jacob spent together the more their feelings grew. And drama, danger and suspense grew too as Big John's net around the lovers tightened. Thankfully CJ Bloom dialled down her YA sounding narration that came across in the last two books which was a good thing as most of the chapters were from Abigail's POV and Beckett Greylock's voice when it was time for Jacob's POV was rich, smooth and very very sexy indeed.

Worth a credit? Yes, a well written story that had likeable characters, sizzling chemistry, suspense, steam, drama, character growth, good secondary cast members, a twist at the end and a nicely paced romance too.

Not dark or non-consensual

If you regularly listen to dark romance/erotica like CD Reiss or TM Frazier, this will seem like 95% fluff and even the "kinky" stuff is just adventurous vanilla.

My favorite so far in this series.

I loved this audiobook! Extremely well written and the narration..... swoon worthy wonderful! A lot of heat, a little kink, and just the right amount of naughty. I am really enjoying this series, but this one is going to be very, very, hard to beat!

I liked it

Not sure about so,e of the reviews, I liked it...I like the extra characters in the story and how they inner mix from the previous stories, yet can be stand alone... I wondered when I read some of the reviews if I would like it or not, and I did...little rough start for them, yet it all gets worked out...sometimes a little slow but I enjoyed the whole story and will continue on with the rest...
