I loved it

This was such a wonderful story. The narrator did an excelent job :) I could read Alison Goodman's hostorical novels for ever :)

Enjoyable

Very well done. A little bit of love, a little bit of adventure, and hint of mystery. An enjoyable read.

Never a dull moment. The reader was mesmerizing.I truly enjoyed being read to and enjoyed the unfolding tale.

Delightful and informative

A entertaining and interesting look at feminism in 18th century England. Engaging characters. Looking forward to next installment!

Best book I’ve read this year!

What an incredible story-it should be a mini series of Lady Augusta and Lady Julia’s adventures. Narrator was excellent. I hope there is a sequel!

Great narrator!

The story is light and fun. Not what I had expected. The narrator is wonderful.

NOT LIGHTHEARTED but excellent

Perhaps there are darker stories out there, but this one was simply much darker than I had been expecting. Once I adjusted my expectations I was able to move ahead with this most-interesting story, which I truly appreciated and recommend. Excellent narration, great story. Will definitely listen to the sequel once it is released.

Intense

I really liked the female protagonists in this book. Both sisters were independent and thought for themselves. I wish it could’ve had more of a conclusion regarding their brother, and Evan. Some of the topics were a little difficult to digest, incest, sex trafficking, rape, torture. I wish it would’ve stayed less heavy on that regard but it is nice to imagine than in the 1800’s women could do something to free women from horrible situations.

Not your usual Regency fare

I expected something more light-hearted, in keeping with the genre, but could tell from the first few pages that it would be more serious, addressing the challenges of being a women in early 19th-century England. It is both very well written and wonderfully narrated, and could actually have been broken down into three books, but I'm glad it was all on one. I recommend it, but do know that the subject can get very grim at times. Looking forward to the next one!

Must read/listen

This story was unstoppable and had me laughing and on the edge of my seat. When is the next in this series???
