Publisher's Summary

King Henry V has defeated the French, but he has yet to grasp the crown of France. He returns to finish the job which was begun at Agincourt. At his side is his mentor, Sir William Strongstaff, Knight of the Garter. The oldest man in the army, he has yet to become a mere observer, and he is sent on a diplomatic mission to Burgundy and an alliance with Duke John the Fearless.

When the Scots ally with the French and kill the king’s brother in battle, it seems that the campaign is over, but the English archers and men at arms show their enemies that they reign supreme on the battlefield. Concluding at the battle of Verneuil, The Battle for France takes England a little closer to the crown of France.

Excellent series of a boy who turned into a Warrior.

Griff Hosker had me captivated as storyteller and loved Marston York’s narration. Excellent series. Good study of history from Black Prince to Henry V.

Good listen

Good as always. Marston York is a brilliant narrator. The story seems to stick the historical facts around the main character. That's what I enjoy.

what an ending

my heart broke...nothing else to say ! i think the only thing that could've made this better was the narrator ageing his voice as William aged...it was weird knowing he was 70 but still sounded 30.

End of the series

Well, what can be said about Sir William Strongstaff. I felt I have lived and breathed this series and like everything, all good things must come to an end, however, at the end I did shed a tear for Sir William.

This is a great series and thoroughly enjoyed it. The book is detailed, the character was awesome and if you have read the others, I urge you to read this.
