I’m gagged, shook, stunned. What in the world just happened. I absolutely love this book, such great writing, world building, characters. It did take me a minute to figure out what was going on, only because the FMC doesn’t really know either and we are right there with her. However, it all comes back together pretty quick and once I got everything figured out, it ends on a cliff hanger, again. I’m so upset it’s another year until the third book but man, this was such an amazing book. The narrators of the audiobook did an absolutely amazing job. I cannot wait for the third book and to see how everything comes together.

Living the Story But Craving More

The writing has such a smooth, effortless flow that perfectly enhances the passionate vocabulary. It pulls you in immediately and makes the story feel incredibly immersive—like you’re right there in the scene, standing among the characters rather than just reading about them.
I especially appreciate how this immersive quality lets me feel everything deeply, including the frustration and anger I have toward the characters. They’re so blind to seeing their own feelings reflected in each other, and they struggle to truly empathize. It’s aggravating in the best way because I know that breakthrough is coming, and that tension keeps me hooked.
The voice actor’s performance is excellent—they really bring the story to life. However, I do wish it was a duet narration (one narrator for each main character). That would have made me feel even more like I was the main character, instead of standing on the outside listening to a conversation.

I am soooo happy with this book. It answered questions, gave me new ones. Left enough room for more in the series. I can’t wait for it. Very very good job. I was worried. I love the characters so much I didn’t know how I would handle it if things went differently. Thank you so much for another excellent book.

Amazing all around. Already anxious for book 3!

I've been looking forward to this book for so long and am so happy it met my high expectations! I re-read the first book a few weeks before this was released and highly recommend doing so.
I love Raeve and Kaan's relationship and the people included in their circle. There are also some side stories that I look forward to further developing in the next books.
This book leaves you with some satisfying [semi] closure and cliff hangers that make you want the next book to be released immediately.

The only negative is the constant gory description of pretty much everything. Instead of simply reading "my heart raced / pounded" you will read something crazy like "the organ in my chest feels like it will rip from beneath my shattering sternum, splat upon the ground and spew hot blood upon the maw of a dragon that will masticate and digest it before being shat upon the ground to serve as fertilizer for the sustenance of my enemies". Obviously that's a slightly exaggerated example, but it's not far off...and that's written throughout the entire book.

The whole things is amazing!

The story line is absolutely amazing definitely one of my favorite series can’t wait for next book!
