Publisher's summary

Nathan Myers and the crew of the Legacy have fought several of the predatory races wreaking havoc on our galaxy. Over the years their enemies have given them many names. Most are born out of spite and fear, but some are out of respect. Now that Nathan and his strike team find themselves battling the invasive Bio-machines of Andromeda, the enemies of all biological life have labeled Nathan and his crew with a new moniker. They call them the Apex Warriors.

On the Verge of a New Horizon

We join Nathan and his crew of quirky aliens as they continue to battle the strange machine hybrid life from the Andromeda galaxy and even those other races from our own galaxy bent on doing evil and causing mayhem.

This series demonstrates creativity and a love of the military science fiction subgenre. Humor and even romance are present.

I do wonder where the series will go next as I assume there is going to be a book 6. I hope we see more of earth and Nathan’s interactions with its various polities and their machinations. At some point, we should get to visit the Andromeda galaxy to see firsthand the home worlds of the villains.

I wish we had the tech mentioned in this novel; I could sure use some of the medical knowledge and skills, nanos even, that Justice easily manifests.

I do hope the series does not run on indefinitely. I doubt it would turn into another Outlander series, a series that has run since the early 1990s and is not yet concluded; noted for each novel the size of a metropolitan telephone book beautifully read by Davina Porter.

This continues a great series

Looking forward to the next in this series. Please do not change the narrator. It will be interesting to see how the countries of the world gather and comply or continue their own selfish ways.

Full circle

Best book in a long time getting earth involved. Been wondering why the homeworld was left out so long.

Wow, out of nowhere, political rant

I've enjoyed the series. The story of "small town boy does big things" in a SciFi genre has kept me listening onward.
Until now.
Looking back I should have seen it coming. In the back half of Book 5, the story slowly positions the main character to a huge, out-of-nowhere political staccato rant in the last hour of the book that isn't necessary and rather distasteful.
Not really a "Spoiler Alert", but .....

The rant theme is basically anti-American ... where American military leaders literally pee in their pants, American president is too stupid to understand the aliens are coming, the Vice President is so spineless he's tagged "a good politician" while his nose smells like the protagonist butt, all Europeans that settled North America over the last few hundred years are severely judged by modern standards and modern politics, and the hero gives a lame, poorly written, condescending speech that has the UN in a standing ovation of his righteousness ... {insert vomit}.

Then we're back to the story.
Marc Stevens, I hope you got that out of your system. I can't stomach another round.
