Publisher's Summary

I was just a nerd for crying out loud. A college student just doing his best to survive. I can’t be a werewolf. I have midterms next week. But apparently fate has plans for me, because one day I was just Jesse Rafe, and the next day I’m The Alpha, the legendary were shifter who is meant to impregnate every possible shifter species omega female and rule the world.

If I don’t get killed by another alpha first, of course.

Super easy, barely an Inconvenience

the bad and the ugly:
power fantasy for the "modern audience" the author forgot its Show me not tell me, no heroes journey or any attempt at one, no romance just porn, tells you about the antagonist felt nothing for it at the end. mc is a marry sue and overdramatic about being a shifter, and the story is short.

the good:
The voice actors are really good at their job Alyssa did really good and the editing and how well they put it together was really good no issues. I hope they get better books then this.

Alarming

This is the first book I’ve listened too from this author and will certainly be the last.
It’s actually shocking how bad the writing and performance is in this audio book.

This reads as if it was Written by a 12 year
Old having power fantasy fever dream. The author doesn’t allow anything to unfold organically and instead just dumps information and what a character is feeling or doing instead
Of showing you which is like fiction 101.

The female VA was okay however the male VA sounds as if he is getting over a really bad
Cold and speaks through the nose as if he’s trying to do a cartoon version of what a Nerd sounds like .

Hard Hard pass on anything from this author or voice actor in the future .

Worth a credit if you like this type of book.

The voice cast didn't disappoint at all. Admittedly the story even felt solid to begin with, all be it a massive cliche in story type. It starts falling apart with huge plot and world holes and teen drama dialogue. typical anime/porn/teen sitcom vibe. But this received descent editing. or the author managed to avoid heavy echo's and the like making it manageable to finish.

It was great for what it is.

I just hate the ending.
I can’t talk about it to much, I don’t want to spoil the ending.

But it feels like this story had a lot of potential, like it needed more time. I got the feeling it was rewritten a bunch and it’s missing some really powerful moments.

Spoilers: they killed the guy because he wasn’t a nice person. Then they force a girl who loved the “bad guy” to apologise to them or basically die.

The bad guy didn’t do anything. We were just told he is an a-hole and apparently that’s worth killing him. He was supposed to unite but the story is taking a Zulu approach to it.

Good performances, but the story is a bit bland and predictable. The author writes as if he wants to sound more intelligent, but doesn't know how to use some of the words he uses. What's worse. Is the lack of tension. The story has EVERYTHING go right for the MC.
