Amazing Start

I loved the concept of this book, It is a great beginning to this series.

A delight to listen to!

I'm only half-way, but so far this has been pure enjoyment! This is my first Eric Vall, and it certainly won't be my last. I'm enjoying the story, the writing, and the characters brought to life by the colorful voices. Vall's protagonist reminds me of Ernest Cline's Wade Watts, lovable and funny. Very much looking forward to seeing where this goes and hearing more work from these narrators.

Poor first impression

love the premise, but the narrator speaks fast to fast. it's hard to keep focused on the story when he's blathering so frantically.

An ok start

As the other people have stated the narrator reads a bit fast. I had to lower the speed to make it a comfortable listen. The story is interesting but the MC by far is the worst part for me. For a grown adult he seemed more of like teenager. Since it's the beginning hopefully the MC matures or at least he becomes more likable.

Great Fantasy!

Great story, loved the fanray and the sensuality. Could have eased off the F- bombs, but really a great read!

Not one of his good ones

Nearly all of his books are pretty much the same story plot outlines with some twist. He had good ones, but this isn’t one of them.

I really liked the premise of this book!

This was a really great story! The telling from the point of view of a lost-in-his-own-world youth, trying to discover his own path and accidentally stumbles into something is a little overdone. That said, it was a great intro into this story.

I hated the sex scenes. It really feels like it was a 13 year old would write about what he thinks sex is like. Just aweful.

meh

great story! however, the narrator is all over the place. The Mc made it hard to pay attention with misinterpreted inflictions and emphasis that didn't match the context. For example, when it is supposed to be curiosity but the narration sounds more shocked or panicked but also outrage or despair. It's hard to descipher sometimes, but it's not what it's supposed to be if that makes any sense. But it's very distracting from the story.

Cool series 😎

Really enjoyed the story and that it took most of the book before the MC slept with his Interest.

Narration-wise, I think the Narrators could play around a bit more with expressing the character's emotions.

Looking forward to hearing the next books.

Maybe you'll see it differently. The book might be really good, not sure...
