The techniques in this book work, I did it!

I was on vacation in Japan when the first version of this was released. I downloaded it and listened to it while I was walking around Japan, riding the bullet train etc. I wondered if I could follow the steps in the book and pull it off so I could live here.

I was working in the US for a software company as a software developer, and I convinced my boss to let me work remotely in Japan. I used the techniques and methods exactly as they were in the book, and it worked!

I used the tools Tim recommended and was able to do the same work remotely as if I were in the office. My office extension forwarded to my Skype number, and many of my customers never even knew they were talking to me in Japan.

I did that for 2 years, and recently quit to start my own software business here in Japan. The future looks bright, and I am living my life as I want it. I would not have been able to do it without the book.

Life changer

This is an absolute must read for everyone. This is my exclusive absolute recommendation. Details, details, details. Nothing is abstract, it is a gem.

Too good not to share

What can I say. As a pure capitalist I would prefer to trash this book so no one else would read it. That's how much it changed my life. But I owe it to Tim Ferriss (yes to the other reviewer - He IS the man!) to tell it like it is.

I'm 40 and I own and run 3 successful businesses that take all my time. I have everything I could ever want but no time to enjoy it. After listening to this book I immediately started the process of selling them all.

I then sat down and wrote a 2 page business plan that will allow me to work only a few hours each week. Its a good workable plan that plays to my strengths. After my mini-retirement I will start to build my new automated business. I feel like 1000 pounds have been lifted off my shoulders.

My first book on tape, some of his ideas don't seem as practice as he makes them out to be and they should have just referenced a website of links to go to rather than reading of the many web site addresses. But still its an all around good book.

a book of yes in a world of no. actionable items. the only trouble is I feel like I need to read it at least three times to absorb everything

I just finished reading it, and I'm blown away by what I've learned. I plan to listen to it again to make sure I heard and understood everything correctly. I'm not yet sure what direction of these ideas will take me, but I know it's going to be awesome!
