Publisher's summary

Everything in Annie Douglas' life has taught her that men can't be trusted. Although Burke is big, strong, and not seemingly gentle, Annie feels drawn to the handsome Texas cowboy. Upon discovering Burke's advertisement for a wife, Annie shyly asks if he might consider her.

Burke Dawson wants children; unfortunately, that also includes a wife. His first wife was a citified hellcat who stole half of his ranch. Now Burke's determined to find an honest country girl with no expectations of love.

Misunderstandings, accidents, and treachery leads to Annie leaving shattered and alone. Can their shaking start lead to the possible loving relationship they both desire but neither is sure of?

Misunderstandings

Ugh this book has so many misunderstandings and people just not talking to each other. Annie is a character that starts off week and gradually gets stronger as the story goes on. Burke is a hero that just makes dumb decisions ugh you will get what I mean as you read or listen to the books. The villains are vile just vile and I feel like did not get the justice they were deserved.

Texas Haven

Great book, narrated really well and was able to really get into the story even though I haven't read the actual book.

Sweet story

If you like sweet, instalove stories set in Texas, this is the book for you! Narrator gave just enough of an accent but didn’t overdo it to make it stereotypical “Texas.” Well done!!

Solid story

Holy cow this book was filled with misunderstandings, miscommunication and non-communication. I really wondered how Annie and Burke were going to find their happily ever after. But find it they did and the road there was littered with obstacles. I seriously wanted to pop these two upside the head to just TALK to each other... but then again, that would create a shorter story.

Ms England did a good job with the narration. Her southern accent was the right touch. Her pacing was good and she put enough emotion into the performance to draw me in. The only thing that kept throwing me is her pronunciation of Burke. I thought she was saying Burt until I went to look up the book description. But past that, I enjoyed her work.

Sweet

Texas Haven is a sweet Western romance. The storyline is good and the characters are charming. The narration by Terri England is excellent, she captures the characters' emotions and their connection. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

cute story

This was a cute book. It's nothing amazing but it's worth the time for the listen. It is kinda of like the tv show Threes Company in its misunderstandings but I enjoyed the story and if your wondering if you should give it a try? You should.

Awesome story

I love this story. The action doesn't stop. If it isn't one thing, then it is another. The narration is very well done. The story is well written and character development is perfect. And the villains are villains indeed. I didn't stop listening until I was finished with the book. I do recommend this book/audible and if you love happy endings, then this book is for you.

Loyalisa30

This is a heartwarming story of Annie’s survival throughout all the trials placed in her way. Burke’s trust issues caused undue stress in a relationship that could have otherwise flourished. Burke was also blinded by the pretty outside package of his ex-wife instead of the beautiful inside of his wife! Overall, this was a great love story.

Naive to Strong through heartache

This is a sweet story with a twisty evil person. the story reminds us all that communication is key to honesty and trust.

Annie goes from a sweet naive city girl to a sweet strong country girl. She never loses her heart of gold in all the adversity faced.
