Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of Before We Were Yours comes a heartfelt novel about the bonds of family and the power of second chances.

When Kate Bowman temporarily moves to her grandmother’s Missouri farm with her husband and baby son, she learns that the lessons that most enrich our lives often come unexpectedly. The family has given Kate the job of convincing Grandma Rose, who’s become increasingly stubborn and forgetful, to move off her beloved land and into a nursing home. But Kate knows such a change would break her grandmother’s heart.

Just when Kate despairs of finding answers, she discovers her grandma’s journal. A beautiful handmade notebook, it is full of stories that celebrate the importance of family, friendship, and faith. Stories that make Kate see her life - and her grandmother - in a completely new way...

Loved it!

This was not only a great story, but the narration was good too. Loved hearing the different voices. This was another book I couldn’t wait to get back too. A lot of lost life lessons/advice included in the story, which was great.

too sappy

This story was way too sappy for me, and so predictable. Just boring. And the reader was AWFUL. I finished it, but it was a struggle

Rarely do I NOT like a recorded book, BUT. ..

I didn't care for story, characters, or narrator. Period. I would have given it 2 stars. but my phone won't change it. It's not that the author doesn't write well; I just don't like what she writes.

Stronger Families are needed now more than ever.

My 2nd book from this author and I'm impressed. Strings of heart and dreams of a good life with a dash of humor tears. Very relatable.

Inspiring story

What a great story of past, present and future. Learning from our elders of the things we take for granted. To take time to allow for life to happen and to be grateful for family. Overcoming trials of families torn by tragic events. The love of caring for our parents and grandparents. How it can bless our lives beyond imagine!

BORING

This book was so painfully dull, I don’t even know how I got through it. And the narrator’s nasally voice while speaking as the grandmother grated on my every nerve. Do not waste your time.
