So. Many. Words.

I understand Winnie is a very in her head, thoughtful character, but goodNESS! Halfway through the book, I realized I could skip about five mins of her internal monologues at a time and still know exactly what was going on.

Huge Penny Reid fan!

This book took me by surprise because I found it tedious and slow. I was a tad bit annoyed with the characters and had a hard time keeping my focus on the story. I have read everything Penny has ever written but this one was a difficult read for me. I loved Cielo Camargo as Sienna Diaz but as lovely as her voice is it didn’t work for this character. I kept hearing Sienna!

All that being said, it was still a cute story and worth a listen. One of the things I love about Penny read is that she weaves in real characters with real problems.

Worst Penny Reid ever.

This is HORRID. The DUMBEST “story” Ive ever heard. I’m so pissed i wasted a credit. The narrators are wooden and nasal. The female has a baby like sticky voice and the male is supposed to be so manly and sexy but he sounds like a hero from Revenge of theNerds, who also has a sinus infection. Uggghh.

Solid Listen

I’m a huge Penny Reid fan and I had been waiting for this one to release on Audible. Cielo Carmago was brilliant as always but I was not a fan of Patrick Boyla for this book. His voice was not what I expected for Byron. I’m glad he only read 4-5 chapters or else I don’t know that could have finished listening.

I gave the story 4 Stars because it seemed a little verbose at times and occasionally I found my mind wandering off.

Great story!

Loved it all except the male narrator's voice didn't seem to match the character. I have listened to many Penny Reid books and she never disappoints!

hesitate to purchase bc review but...

I really liked this book! not sure why it had bad reviews. Penny Reid is a slow burn author and this was that! The back story for each character made the awkwardish beginnings make since. I always enjoy a H and h with imperfect love stories it makes the happy ending so much better.

I wish I could experience this all over again

I loved this SO MUCH I struggle to find the words.

It's like this book was catering specifically to me. I loved the characterers, their pining and I adored the way they explored sex together. It felt marvellously refreshing and just so good.

I read some comments of people complaining about the length of this but for me it had just the right amount.

I'll try to come back later and write a more cohesive review but at the moment i just want to scream how much i loved this.

The only minor complaint I have is that the narrators weren't my favourite, but they did a good enough job.

This is my favourite Penny Reid book so far and I read almost all of them.

Drew me in

The struggles the characters had to deal with to communicate really drew me into the story. We all need lessons in communication.

Ugh!!

I really wanted to like this book. I just couldn't take it anymore. The characters came across immature and boring. I was left wondering if this was a young adult book. I enjoy the other books from this author, but this one is a hard pass. I returned the book without finishing it.

I ❤️ Penny Reid but…

I have adored every single book I’ve read or listened to by Penny Reid. Obsessed over, even. I read this when it was first released and I loved it even if it was a little long winded at times. It just so happens both of the main characters are just super overthinkers. I didn’t find it bothersome when I read it but for some reason listening to it somehow emphasized this fact and while I still loved the characters and the story very much I feel like it might have been better suited as a series of books in the way of the Hypothesis series. Just to sort of break it up a little. Definitely worth a read though!

Fabulous read!

This was a fabulous read about two highly complicated people, who dealt with their complexities in opposite ways.

This was a big, slow-burn read and I loved every single word. It was a humorous, angsty and sexy story, riddled with doubt, awkwardness and misunderstanding. Both Win and Byron were complex characters and crying out to be understood. I adored the evolvement of their relationship and changing perception of each other, as they spent more time together. I thoroughly enjoyed their voyage of discovery of one another, as well as within themselves. Their chemistry sizzled and sparked, as attraction and tension heightened between them. Byron's admiration, desire and passion for Win was thrilling and made my heart full. Such a brilliant, delicious read!

Narration on excellent. Voices suited the characters, and execution and delivery was on point. Enjoyed listening to the audio as much as reading the ebook. Fabulous!
