Oh the temptations!

What a masterful blend of thrilling and riveting suspense, swoon, love, witty banter, intense passion, spice, humor, and criminal intrigue!
Harper and Garrett are a match made in romantic suspense lovers heaven, and Temptation Trails was simply unputdownable.
Add an adorable teen, matchmaking aunties, large family and engaging (sometimes mischievous) community, and you get the best immersive story telling experience! Oh! And let’s not forget the squirrels!
I devoured Temptation Trails in one sitting, teetering on the edge of my seat - a testament to the author’s skill and ability to keep us transfixed until the final word.
The narration was phenomenal, it provided an added dimension, and allowed me to immerse myself in the story.
I wholeheartedly recommend this suspenseful masterpiece to anyone who enjoys a superb romantic thriller!

Does not disappoint!

I really like Claire Kingsley’s suspense romance series so was glad to see this new addition to the Havens. This one was excellent. I RARELY rate a 5. It kept my attention every minute. a Kingsley book with jason Clarke is an immediate buy for me, but both narrators were excellent and I truly didn’t know who the perp was until the end. It makes me want to listen to the first 2 in the series again…

Audio Review:
These narrators do a fantastic job with this book. They make sure all the emotion is right there in their voices. They add a unique inflection when voicing other characters in a scene. I loved how both portrayed our leads.

Book Review:
One thing I love about this series is how each brother's romantic timeline varies just enough. Garrett isn't looking for love. He is fairly on the side of 'not worth the effort' but he also isn't extremely hard headed once the romance presents itself as potentially life changing. I loved how he was with his family and his son. He shows he's the boy scout while also accepting he can't control everything and get it all right. I was SO frustrated at some of the turns coming for him but obviously it worked out in the end.

Harper was so refreshing. She was light-hearted but also took things seriously. She has her silly reasons for some things but doesn't become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Her relationship with Owen and the wives was fun and impactful. She got a lot of closure in this book and I was happy for it.

I love how the suspense is playing out in these books. This one was frustrating (on behalf of the characters) and there are some red herrings. Above it all, the plot and romance are balanced. I hate a romantic suspense that sacrifices either for the other, so this was great!

I loved the chosen narrators for these characters! They did a wonderful job becoming these characters and selling the plot and they immediately captured my ears and heart from beginning to end.

I loved the flow of the plot, the main and side characters, the small-town feel, and the murder/mystery suspense. Add the whole single dad and the superstitious fmc and this story got devoured in one day.

Small town cop and baker

Another wonderful small town suspenseful romance by Claire Kingsley. This story sucked me in and held my attention so fiercely, I couldn’t put it down. Garrett Haven is everything you could want in a man. He is a sheriff’s deputy and detective in Tilikum. He is sweet, loving, protective and an amazing single father to a 14 year old boy, Owen. Harper is new to Tilikum, she’s visited in the past when she came to stay with her aunt, but she’s moved to town for good to run the bakery since her Aunt isn’t doing well health wise. Harper is a wonderful girl, she’s sweet, adorable and charming. Her superstitious demeanor is endearing and quirky. The girl definitely seems to have a run of bad luck but if you look at where it leads her, to Tilikum, to Garrett, to her HEA with her new family, she has the best luck of all. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Garrett and Harper though. They don’t get off on the best foot when Garrett has to cancel their blind date due to chasing a suspect, then there’s trouble with Owen, and of course, there’s the cold case Garrett is working on that starts to heat up when it seems like Harper might be a target. This will keep you guessing as to who the killer is, there are so many suspects that crop up and it kept me on my toes and trying to solve the crime right alongside Garrett. Beyond the mystery, there’s a deep love and connection between Garrett and Harper, they are perfect together. Two souls that belong together. But Harper doesn’t just fit with Garrett, she fits with Owen too. And let me tell you, Owen will destroy you. He is the true bright spot in this story. He is such a good kid, brave, loving, vulnerable, and just so endearingly sweet. The epilogue had me legit crying, Harper and I shed a single tear at the same time. Claire Kingsley always brings the deep emotional connection with her characters, and this time is no different. I fell in love with Garrett, Harper and Owen. I want to wrap myself up in their story and never come out. There’s not as much heat, but there’s enough to feel their passion and chemistry. The Haven brothers are quickly becoming one of my favorite series, and Garrett’s story is definitely at the top of my list. On another note, I listened to the audio and whoa, it is fantastic. Jason Clark does an amazing job breathing life into Garrett, his voice is deep and so delicious. And Rose does a great job voicing Harper. The narration was perfect, they both nailed it. This entire book was an intense, glorious journey in the Tilikum world and I can’t wait to visit again.
