Publisher's summary

The Magic Academy...an institution shrouded in mystery and secrets. People from all over the different empires want nothing more than to enroll, get their hands on the knowledge stored there, become those most respected in the world - mages. Tailyn Vlashich was one of the lucky few admitted without going through the entrance exams. And once inside, he had training, the arena, lessons, and an interesting take on what had happened over 3,000 years to look forward to, all capped off by a dynamic labyrinth that came with a chance to sit down with the provost. After all, that's who holds the key to the secret of the dragon's blood.

But how are you supposed to find time to study when your mentor has a problem he can't handle on his own? Once again, Tailyn faces a road very much unlike the noisy halls of the academy, with life itself reprising its role as his trusty teacher.

Damn

That has to be the best ending to a book so far. And all the books have a good ending.

Love this series

And this book is another great addition. I love the intrigue about the past and the system being rather simplified or magic’d in. No repeated stats over and over and no building towers/forts. What a gem of a series. =]

Better and better.

I really like this author. The way he manages the characters is engaging. I feel drawn in and start to care about them and how they are wronged or blessed by fortune. The ending was not expected and considering the other series tied to this it really draws more comparison about what may happen. Can't wait for the next one

Review

Overall the performance of the narrator was great I enjoyed 80% of the audiobook. I’m assuming if you’re reading this review already listen to one and two, Book 3 was definitely more of a character growth for the main character and the other characters as well. But then the writer of the book made a very weird turn at the end of the book. Which complete the shift the story significantly. I’m hoping that the writer will correct this error in the book 4. But somehow I highly doubt it. I’ve listen to many audiobooks especially with LiteRPG‘s, and I’ve only seen it corrected twice!. one writer was able to pull off a significant change in the other the writer simply made a correction. I do recommend this book if you’re a fan of the series, but you might love the ending or you might enjoy it🤷‍♂️

Frustrating

Main character does everything. Solves every problem. Saves everyones lives and the world over and over. The other characters are there to be saved by the main character. They contribute nothing and are always a liability. worse, they take his accomplishments and items as their own. everyone receives things from the main characters accomplishments but they all treat him like shit, rarely say thank you, and are ungrateful for everything he does. I am 3 books in and there is not a single person who consistently treats him well
Everyone just wines and expects his help
If he isnt snappy everyone talks bad about him or he gete nearly beaten to death he gets yelled at for not being good enough. If you love a character that is quintessential back seat gamer, you will love this because that is what every character is. Their accomplishments are 1/1000th of the mc in 20x the time. The worst part is the main character has 0 self respect. He loves being treated like garbage. Where I currently am he is going to resurrect someone by sacrificing his own future power for someone who has betrayed him and used him. An objectively awful character that has threatened to kill him and gotten people killed and room his items while literally being saved by this kid 7 times. Its bizarre. Anyone else would have abandoned these moochers. The excuse is constantly that he is young which is contrary to who we are dealing with. mc is a ruthless killer while being easily manipulated and used over and over. He is betrayed over and over and even if the people around him change, they arent worth changing. lol if none of these people existed he would objectively be better off. if they all died in chapter 1 he would be better off. I hate everyone in this story. its infuriating. Dont pick this up. Hey, update. Now he trusted someome and that persons incompetence has left them completely at the enemies mercy. What a banger. 3 books in. The author is incompetent.

Makes MC powerful, NERF!

It's a okay story, if you have gotten this far you're familiar with some of them. In this book there are two major issues near the end. Spoilers: Okay, first major issue is the girl dying. The crystal people are being watch like a hawk by the boy, but somehow setup a bomb around the girl and just arbitrarily kill her off. How and why? I get the author wants to surprise us with her death, but it wasn't surprising since we knew they were bad guys. Second major issue, why is the system so bias? The system nerfs the boy because he is too powerful! Well system, that's what happens when you give a person new abilities and restricted abilities. Plus, there isn't any balance in the first place! All these restricted or locked skills show up everywhere! Also, if the boy wasn't powerful then he couldn't achieve or live as long as he had. Overall, an okay addition.

okay story

not as good as i thought it would be. it buga me that everyone around the main character seems to be better at everything and despite his hard work he only wins via luck not his effort.
