Publisher's summary

A disgraced magistrate on the run. A daring swashbuckler hunted by an unstoppable assassin. An investigator of the supernatural faced with a corpse that won't stop dancing.

Here are eight tales of the Greatcoats, legendary sword-fighting magistrates brought together by an idealistic young king and disbanded after his execution as a tyrant. Follow along through their swashbuckling adventures, their triumphs and defeats, their darkest hours and their moments of shining redemption as they struggle to bring justice to a corrupt kingdom.

Narrated by three fabulous and award-winning narrators: Joe Jameson, Kristin Atherton and Chris Humphreys

A Fun Insight Into a Great World

I loved all four Greatcoats novels, and these short stories are no different! Really looking forward to more of some of these characters, and as an aspiring author, the insights into Sebastien’s writing at the end were fascinating.

it's more Greatcoats!

A series of vignettes after the main Greatcoats story, what's not to love? it's a nice return to the world of Falcio Kest and Brasti, where we meet a handful of other Trattari and see them in action.

Excellent return to the world of the Greatcoats

Beyond the swashbuckling, there are lots of poignant moments in these stories that remind me why de Castell is one of my favorite authors. He understands heroism better, I think, than any other living writer, and his stories are always an inspiration.

More joe Jameson

Whatever is costs I need more of joe, thank goodness me started and basically ended this series. I could have done without the other readers, give me joe or give me death, he makes the series. Short stories were great, other readers were meh.

First Rate, like Conn Iggulden said!

First, Murielle de Vierre, is Waifu, and that is certainly not all! Second, I enjoyed the focus on these very different characters from Falcio, Brasti, and Kest, and the rest. I appreciated the two stories with Falcio, but also the others who were allowed to breath! I would love more of all of them. I didnt think any of the short stories were out of pocket, or just eh. All wholly different and great! The performances by Kristin Atherton and Chris Humphreys, were top notch! And as always, Joe Jameson, cant go wrong!
