After two years and too many lost troops, Navy medic Max de Milles is ready to go home. Her last tour is up in four days and she will soon be catching a transport to the States. Life is looking good until she gets detailed to evacuate a humanitarian group in south Somalia.

Rachel Winslow and her Red Cross team are caught in the crossfire during a vicious civil uprising, but she refuses to abandon her team members as the rebels close in on their camp. By the time Max and the Black Hawk arrive, it may already be too late.

Hunted by extremists, Max and Rachel are forced to work together if they are to survive, and in the process, discover something far more lasting.

Abby Craden did the unbelievably remarkable job here on this action-packed novel amazingly well written by Radclyffe.

If reading is your job, you should do your homework, right? If you don’t know a word, look it up!
But still the velvety rich smooth voice we love.
Another great story from Radclyffe.
Would be happy to read/listen more about any of the characters from this series.

Idk if it’s because I’m military myself or that I’m still totally enamored by my wife after 9 years but this book made me feel everything! I’m obsessed with these characters and their story! This probably just slotted all time #1 for me so far.

OHmyGod!!

The Weather is not the only steamy presence in this romance ,Sailor Max and the brave aid worker Rachel , manage to find each other even under heavy fire . Radclyfe went above and beyond in the realistic department, I was exhausted just listing to this intense tale of love in the middle of a war zone . I found the action not being in the bed room refreshing , don't panic it wouldn't be a Radclife without that but it was nice not o have sex as the point of focus .

I knew I would be doing a lot of driving this month so I broke with the norm and purchased the Audible format of this book. Firstly, I love Abby Craden. Her voice and characterizations bring a novel to life like no other narrator I have listened to.
As with all of the author’s other installments of this series, this one contained its fair share of tension and drama. The strong and domineering Max, was very typical of Radclyffe’s butch characters and instantly likable, and although I found Rachel a bit more distant, I soon grew fond of her as well.
The insertion of a political twist into the story was a distraction at first, but it soon was as important to the plot as the action at the beginning, and did not detract at all.
All in all, a great book. I would highly recommend it to any fan of this author.
